Dave Mirra rides onto Wii

PSP BMX game to arrive on Nintendo's new console in June courtesy of Crave Entertainment.

In 2005, Crave Entertainment snatched the rights to the Dave Mirra BMX game franchise from the ashes of defunct publisher Acclaim. Crave released its first Mirra-branded effort, Dave Mirra BMX Challenge, for the PlayStation Portable last November. Now Mirra is once again tackling the console world, as Crave has announced a Wii edition of BMX Challenge, set for release in June.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge will feature a dozen levels that can be played in race or stunt modes, 13 bikes to ride, and customizable characters. Of course, Crave is also including multiple new control schemes to take advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers.

Dave Mirra BMX Challenge will retail for $29.99. For more on the PSP edition of the game, check out GameSpot's review.

Well, if it's anything like the old Dave Mirra games then I'm... Going to vomit. Those games were terrible and the fact that they aren't even charging full price tells me that even the suits at Crave know it's not worth it.

Hopefully it turns out to be a fun and intuitive take on the BMX genre.

I can just see a handlebar accessory already...or maybe a whole bicycle accessory that has a spot in the crossbar for the Wii remote to sit. Then it can sense the wheelies and tricks you do in your living room and display them onscreen.

Bicycles through 50 inch plasma screens...I can just see the YouTube videos already...

For everyone reasoning that $30 isn't bad for a not so good game, just think for $10 more you could get Metal Slug Anthology on Wii, and for $20 more you could get Super Paper Mario in less than a month, or even for $30 you can buy almost any really good DS game. Plus paying for trash, no matter how cheap, is only encouraging them to make more trash(i.e. bad movie/anime games).

this could be a really good game, if they were to make the graphics better than Dave Mirra Pro BMX2, for the Gamecube, it was really fun. and if they made some of the motion sensitive controls for flips and spins, that would be really cool.

I think they could do really good with this game as long as its not a direct port.
