Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, and Spy Fox get Wii'd

Majesco will bring Humongous Entertainment's acclaimed family-friendly adventure series to Nintendo's console for $19.99 each later this year.

Humongous Entertainment is currently best known for its line of family-friendly Backyard sports games, but the Infogrames subsidiary's origins date back to the graphic-adventure-game heyday of the early '90s, when it was founded by LucasArts alums Shelley Day and Ron Gilbert. Although those execs have since moved on (Ron Gilbert recently surfaced as creative director at Hothead games), a few of the properties created under their direction will soon be finding new life on the Nintendo Wii thanks to Majesco.

The casual-friendly publisher announced today that children's adventure games Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, and Spy Fox will arrive for Nintendo's console. All three games will be produced by Interactive Game Group and take advantage of the Wii's motion-sensing controls, with a focus on point-and-click-style adventure gameplay.

As each game is part of a long-running series, each game will be the first installment in their respective franchises, with Freddi Fish in Kelp Seed Mystery, Pajama Sam in Don't Fear the Dark, and Spy Fox in Dry Cereal. Majesco had not indicated whether it intends to port to the Wii other installments from the franchises in the future, and had not responded to requests for comment as of press time.

Freddi Fish, Pajama Sam, and Spy Fox will all find release on Nintendo's console in mid-2008 for $19.99 each.

Hate to break the 69 comment chain, but I am too lost in nostalgia to not review. Pajama Sam and Spy Fox were always my favourite... though PS was too hard for me as a kid XD

I love this! Freddi Fish is the only one that isn't too scratched to run on my PC, so I will gladly buy Spy Fox and Pajama Sam! I absolutely love these games!!!!

It would be great if these were released on wiiWare instead. If only the Wii supported a hard drive....

Seriously... I was sure I was the only one to think that was cool and was expecting for everyone to say something like "Wtf, this is retarded!". I'm really glad to see that this isn't just part of MY childhood as I barely even know someone that are aware of that kind of games.

So, all of you GameSpot editors are groaning and wondering why ANYone in their right mind would be excited about this game. The answers simple; the same reason you guys get worked up over pilot wings. A lot of 14-20 year olds played these games as lads, and now they can play them again. Actually, this just served as a reminder for me, now I'm going to go back and buy every single spy fox game. Woo!!

    BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!!!!!

Man, I remember those games. Kind of wish one or two of Putt-Putt's games would be there, but I'll take Spy Fox. He was the best anyway. I tried playing Putt-Putt saves the zoo again a couple weeks back, and I beat it in like half an hour. But it was still awesome. But where is the remake of Fatty Bear? And Putt-Putt goes to the moon! That game needed a sequel... I personally hope Humungous will make some new ones if these sell well... could you imagine a new Spy Fox game??? Or Putt-Putt Saves Moon City?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? My brain is just overflowing with awesomeness right now...

    YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I received a Amazon.com e-mail about Pajama Sam being released for Wii, I was hoping they'd release Freddi Fish games. I'm so glad they are, those games are just pure fun!

I hope they release the other Freddi Fish games beside Kelp Seed, my favorite is Freddi Fish 5. Although, the singing pirate fish from Kelp Seed is so cute!
