Star Wars Clone Wars replicating September 15

LucasArts and Krome Studios prepping Republic Heroes as lead-in to second season of Cartoon Network series; will ship for 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC.

Last year, LucasArts launched Star Wars The Clone Wars, first as a feature-length film and then as an animated series on the Cartoon Network. To help promote those extensions of the Star Wars universe, the publisher also released two similarly themed games for Nintendo's platforms, Star Wars The Clone Wars: Lightsaber Duels for the Wii and Jedi Alliance for the DS.

Today, LucasArts confirmed that a new bout of Clone Wars has flared up, and the battle has replicated onto a rash of new platforms. Titled Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes, the new game will be available on September 15 on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, PSP, Wii, DS, and PC. As with the last year's Wii game, Republic Heroes is in development at Krome Studios.

According to LucasArts, the game will offer 30 missions that serve as a lead-in to the second season of Star: Wars The Clone Wars. Bounty hunter Cad Bane and a Skakoan supervillain Kul Teska will serve as the antagonists in Republic Heroes, with players assuming the roles both of Jedi Knights and clone troopers to halt their nefarious machinations. The Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of Republic Heroes will support two-player online and offline co-op play, with players able to drop in and out of games on the fly.

LucasArts also noted that the DS edition of the game will differ from other versions, and is in development at LucasArts Singapore. According to the publisher, Republic Heroes on the DS will follow the first season of the Cartoon Network show, and includes touch-screen controls for movement, attacks, and puzzle-solving.

figures another kiddy game... the forced unleased was entertainning but wasn't thought out very well in my view... but this game is right up there with lego star wars and the other vaporware stuff lucas arts tries to dump on us... Kotor was excellent and so was the jedi knight games what happened to them good old days...

I'm so getting this game when it launches! I may just pre-order it when I get payed at the end of this month! But I have to save some cash for my next Xbox360 game. I have yet to decide on if I will buy this on my PC or not, my Xbox360 needs some major love as the last 3 games I bought were for my PC. Then Agian my PC needs more love too! My PSP needs some games for it as well!

Nice! I was scared off by Lightsaber Duels, content w/ Force Unleashed Multiplayer. But this looks like a worthy contender. Love to see new developments!

Obviously there hasn't been much time of development for this game. Think about it, if they are announcing it so close to its release date. Most games get a year or more in advanced for tid bits, trailers, etc. This game about 5 months. The trailer and other things have very stiff looking gameplay from what ive seen so far. That alone tells me its surely not going to be much good and probably just made for kids. So, dont expect another TFU, KOTOR, or Battlefront.

The first Wii Clone Wars Game is one of the worst games I have ever purchased. I played it for 2 hours and now it collects dust. I won't be fooled twice.

If they were making a sequel to The Force Unleashed then I would be interested.

I am not too keen on Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series, so this game will probably not interest me. However, that is just my personal opinion. The game may end up being great.

Clone wars may be a "kiddy" series but still i enjoy it alot because well i love starwars and since they cant make a movie for everything that happened in the clone wars ( Which is my favorite era in the starwars universe) Sure i would love a Kotor III ,Battlefront III or RC II, But anything Starwars would be awesome as long as its fun. Stop QQ

No, i like the clone wars better if done right this game is going to be fun and that is what the game must be FUN. I hope we can control some clone troopers as a squad as seen in the series, I enjoy the series alot and for those who say the other 2 games sucked well yes they did. But if they get it right it can be fun.

bring back knights of the old republic.
even a re-release of that game, with amped graphics for ps3 and xbox.
star wars games are generally pretty fun, but KOTOR was the best by far, even if you werent a star wars fan it was a totally amazing game, with an actually good story line.

Dude, enough. This version of Star Wars is so watered down, it's not even enjoyable, and the games are even worse. Why not do another Force Unleashed game that either follows 1) Luke's training, 2) when Anakin become Vader or 3) an Old Republic-era game. I'm so sick of the Saturday morning cartoon crap.

though i'm looking forward to this game i can't help hopoing that find a way to allow you to use much more powers than displayed by the normal jedi. After starwars force unleashed I expect ot only have force push type powers. hopefully it will incorporate some kotr decision making as well as great action.
