Quantum of Solace due November 4

Activision's game tie-in to MGM's Daniel Craig-led spy film hits retail shelves a week and a half before box-office debut; preorder program detailed.

Activision is giving James Bond fans plenty of time to check out Quantum of Solace before the MGM film of the same name steps to the box office. With the film out November 14, Activision confirmed today that Quantum of Solace will arrive on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, Nintendo DS, and PSP a week and a half earlier on November 4.

In addition to offering a date on the game, Activision took the wraps off of its preorder program. For Xbox 360 and PS3 gamers who pick up the game in advance at specialty retailer GameStop, Activision will toss in a token for a free multiplayer map pack that can be redeemed after the game launches. Best Buy preorders will be offered a $10 discount good on any James Bond DVD.

Activision's Quantum of Solace spans more than just the upcoming Daniel Craig-led espionage film, incorporating events from Casino Royale, the first film in MGM's latest reboot of the storied franchise. Developed by Call of Duty 5: World at War studio Treyarch, the Xbox 360 and PS3 editions of the game will feature Infinity Ward's Call of Duty 4 graphics engine.

With so many highly anticipated games coming out one wonders how well this game will do? It looks good, and has a great Studio behind it so I think this will be the sleeper hit of the season. I just wish all the new games coming out weren't so expensive, even this one is 60 bucks. That may be its downfall.

Hope the story won't be the same as in the movie. Even though it seems that way I hate when developers do that.

I'm actually reasonably excited about this game. It looks to be pretty decent (if they release ANY footage), and it's gonna be on Wii(the Conduit, personally, looks like crap). My only gripe with this setup is that TREYARCH is developing it. Ooh dear.

Looks like Treyarch ditched the PC again. I'm still honestly surprised they are giving us World At War.

Oh well, lets see here. Treyarch, six platforms, licensed movie game. Oh dear. Glad I don't get my hopes up.

now, why isnt the wii getting the COD-4 engine, it is on the new COD-5??? Why not for Bond? I really dont care, but you would think that if one can do it, then why not the other.

I haven't seen a REAL AWSOME Bond game since Goldeneye, so if this game can go in par with Goldeneye or better, then I'll definetly get this.
