Wii mode?

How do I access Wii mode? I swear Google is returning garbage results just to anger me. I can access it fine when I put in a Wii game, but isn't there a way to activate it without a Wii disc in the console?

From the Wii U main screen, call them "channels" or buttons, there is a button with the word Wii in it. On my GamePad, it is in the direct middle. Select it and start it. This will restart the Wii U in Wii mode.

Just to say, the external ports to support Gamecube games do not exist on the Wii U, and thus leaves the Wii U not backwards compatible.

Hey yeah, thanks, had a brain fart, found it this morning. Using the controller classic works though, so all is good.
