For what the Wii system is, this game is a must-have in your library. It's a fantastic party game.

I don't understand the "hardcore" gamer crowd sometimes. They've been hating on the Wii for a million years now because either a game doesn't utilize the motion controls right or more commonly that the motion controls feel gimmicky, or that a game "lacks substance" or a million other things.

Then a great title like Wii Sports Resort comes out and suddenly everyone remembers what video games were always meant to be: just plain fun.

While there are a handful of mini-games in this title that are rather pointless (bicycling and canoeing, anyone?), there are too many that bring quite a bit of fun to the table. The swordfighting is quite fun, especially the speed slice mode against a buddy. While simplistic, shooting hoops in the Basketball game has provided me a lot of fun (perhaps it's because I'm using my local college's mascot as a Mii, but still!). The all-mighty Bowling has returned, with the improved control really shining through. They also added 100-pin mode, which is excellent! I remember thinking with the first Wii Sports that they should have included that as a regular mode to play against friends and I couldn't be happier they did it.

I realize that the game, being that it's rather simplistic, lacks lasting single player appeal. I'm fairly certain that surprises nobody at this point. After all, if Basketball weren't a multi-billion dollar sport and was just one single guy lobbing a ball into a hoop, it wouldn't have the same appeal as an actual live 3v3 pick up game has. You know if you've got the friends and family to play with and against, and if you've got them, this title belongs in your library.

Lastly, I'll briefly mention that the Motion+ Accessory is amazing, and instantly noticeable. It's unfortunate that you need to buy a new one for every other controller you plan on using (which is a 75$ investment to deck out 3 extra remotes) but yet again, I think no one is surprised that Nintendo is adding another accessory you really should pick up in order to get the most of your fun.
