White Knight Chronicles, a very underestimated game.
Besides this the combat does have it's ups. For instance the combo system, never played an RPG where you could combined moves together to make your own unique combo. Other than those two additions(One good and one bad) the battle system is quite similiar to Final Fantasy 12. Now, for the story. I found the story absoulutely amazing and the way the first one ends makes you beg to god for Level 5 to released WKC2 the next day. To my dismay, that didn't happen...sad face :(. Anyways, back to the review, sure the concept of rescuing the princess is pretty cliche but the more deep parts of the story such as the Knights Origins, The Yshrenian Empire that created these massive weapons etc are very unique. The story takes possibly about 10-20 hours to complete depending on if you hunt for materials to make better equiqment, grind etc.
Overall the story in my opinion was amazing. Now one flaw I'd like to point out that isn't much of a big deal but some make it out to be is the lip movement of the characters when they speak. It's not always on key with the words and sometimes they're mouths don't move on some words, but honestly, is it REALLY that big of a deal? Another flaw is the lack of involement the avatar you make at the beginning has, kinda just stands there the whole time. I had a slight problem with this at first but you get over it pretty quickly. The whole reason for making your avatar is to use it in the multiplayer anyways.
Now, probably the most time consuming part about this game is the multiplayer. It's bvery addicting and I'm sure most MMO players will feel right at home. You make friends, go on quests with eachother, make new equiqment, and the list goes on, an experience you don't want to pass on if you get this game.
Altoghether, this is probably the funnest RPG I've played in quite some time. I didn't think that it'd be good due to the reviews but man was I wrong. Just goes to show you that you shouldn't believe ALL reviews as reviews are just others' opinions and everyone has a different one. I hope this review encourages some of you to go out and get this great game, if you do, Have Fun!
