Can Vin Diesel and Midway make video game magic? We get another glimpse of The Wheelman.

You're the Wheelman

Car chases are pretty awesome. Find out why in this interview.

You may have scoffed when it was revealed that Vin Diesel was starting a game production company and getting involved with the development of The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay. And you know what? You were probably right to do so. But Diesel's Tigon Studios was at least partially responsible for a masterpiece. Can lightning strike twice? Midway certainly hopes so, because it's currently working with Tigon on a cinematic-styled action game called The Wheelman.

Vin Diesel is The Wheelman. All we have to go on is some brief time spent talking with Midway representatives and a trailer that was originally unveiled last year, so there's not much to report at this time. The game will contain both on-foot and in-car action, and it will be an open-world, mission-based game. It will take place in Barcelona, and the developers at Midway's Newcastle studio are really focused on making this the ultimate car-chase game.

Will Midway Newcastle and Tigon succeed? We'll have to wait until the fourth quarter of 2007 to know for sure. The Wheelman is scheduled for release on the PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 this winter.

vin diesel or not who cares. the premise of this game has me intrigued. "focused on making this the ultimate car-chase game" is primarily the part that has me thinking. lets hope its good. atleast diesel is a videogame player which also gives me some hope for this title.

If a Hitman game was ever created, they should use Statham...NOT Diesel

Sweet. When a story needs a larger than life character(in just about any aspect you could think of) Vin Deisel's the Go To guy. he's the terminator of this generation, only slightly smaller. Big, Bad, poorly vocalized and, well, kindof ugly. He's definitely a bad*ss when you need one. I could see this guy driving a getaway car in real life for some reason. I think they need to get with Jason Statham on this project. THAT would be a killer car chase team

Tigon Studios? Thats like the opposite of a Liger right? Theyre pretty much my favorite animal...bred for its magic skills...

I hope that this game comes out great because the chronicles of riddick:escape from butcher bay was one of the best games I have ever played. I have high hopes.

ok, maybe this game can do what Driver has been failing to do for the past few years...but we could do without all the corny talkin from ol' Riddick.

The thing is Vin Diesel is a gamer himself, and who knows what gamers want better than a fellow gamer? Sounds to me like it's going to be kinda like Driver, only this game might be good...

the thing about vin is he is committed to making good games. he knows games and most importantly hes rich as hell. he has no problem spending 20 million on making a game. any game he is involved with producing will have lots of polish.
