What it takes is a great new slant on word game apps. Good to play on your own and even better against an opponent. The element of playing an opponent adds a little bit more pressure as does sound of the the clock counting down. Nine individual one minute rounds means it is a quickfire game with 6 letters rounds, where you make as many words possible from the seven letters given, 2 numbers rounds where you make a random number from smaller numbers, and a conundrum round to finish. For me, what makes the game so special is how the developers have dealt with the competitive element, your stats, scores and achievements are recorded for opponents to see when playing in online mode. To sum it up, it's a word game with numbers and a numbers game with words, it keeps you on your toes and gets your brain working. Well done to the developers of What it takes.
