Wet

I must admit to playing the WET demo twice and not liking it either time. The first time I simply hated it and almost instantaneously deleted the demo from my PS3's hard drive, the next time I played was after ordering it (as it had come down enough in price to make purchasing it a risk worth taking). I played the demo a couple of times, and found it difficult but was slowly warming to it.

I have, by no stretch of the imagination, managed to complete this game so would class this as not so much a review as a guide to those wondering about buying it.

What I will say is that visually it looks great, I know people have said that the picture is not great, but that whole grindhouse feel really adds to the look of the film inspired game graphics and menu's.

In addition the soundtrack is terrific, containing over thirty songs from bands many will not have heard before, the songs are hard for me to categorise but sure others will be able to, but again, they are another part of the game which really adds something to the game as a whole.

I personally found the gameplay hard but I am a novice player anyway, and am certain others will not be so troubled, unless player WET on some of the more challenging difficulty levels. One of the things that makes this so interesting is the controls to move Rubi (the games heroine and the character you control) around in combat and also to reach and advance in areas, which once you get the knack of it, is fun.

As I say I struggled at times, but that's just me, If your a casual gamer I would still advise you to get this game as it really is a hidden gem despite the fact that some of the lower scores it has received may put you off. To other gamers, I think personally you'd enjoy the challenge and controls of this game enought to risk it, even if it's just a make-weight between releases it is certainly worth at least a first try.
