With the film grain patina of z-grade cinema of the seventies, Wet delivers an experience in the style of Tarantino.

User Rating: 9.5 | Wet X360
Stylish and fun, Wet offers a simple but effective combat system that allows for ridiculous stunts in the vein of seventies action films. Every minute oozes style, from the crackling drive in cut scenes to the large gunfight set pieces to the turret sequences.

In all frankness, it's style is what sets it apart from other games. The soundtrack is dynamite, featuring Brian LeBarton from Beck and The Arkhams. It's sadly a touch on the easy side, but I've yet to try the higher difficulties at the time of the review (as I just unlocked them). It has quick time events, which I usually hate, but in this case they're positioned in areas that make sense and have a strangely consistent logic to them that feels... comfortable.

It's clear that a great deal of time was put into the details, and it shows in the final product. In that respect, you can believe the hype. It IS like playing a grindhouse action film.
