If you've ever wanted to be a character in a Quentin Tarantino or John Woo movie, this is the game for you!

Well I downloaded the demo first on the PSN and was blown away. What a great demo. Gave you a good overview of the game and different types of play. It didn't really get into the Rubi much, which was ok.

But WOW when I got the whole game! Rubi is one of the meanest characters around. She is in one word, awesome. Kind of a really mean foul mouthed Laura Croft. Rubi can jump, climb, vault and slide down ladders upside down while shooting!!! She quite enjoys stabbing guys in the groin with her sword, which she does with a smirk.

The game makes you feel like your part of a drive-in theatre. The loading screens are short ads for various things you might see at a drive-in movie. My personal favorite is Chilly Dilly the personality pickle LOL!

If you like games such as Devil May Cry or Tomb Raider then WET is for you. You feel like you're part of a Quentin Tarantino or John Woo movie. The slow motion shooting makes it easier to aim your second gun to get multi kills, head shots or ball busters. I rarely used any other weapon than the main pistols you start with, as you can build them up in between each level.

The acrobatics are great. Again it's common sense. If you try to jump into a crate or a wall and expect to get some great shots off, well I'm sorry I can't help you. The reviewer for GameSpot, obviously not a gamer, complains "and a lingering awkwardness can interrupt the acrobatic platforming from time to time." I didn't find this at all and I played the game through twice just for fun. But at least he admits it's his own fault "Fortunately, you'll usually be too busy enjoying the action to notice." This is the ability to multitask, most gamers today are much more sophisticated and can perform multiple tasks at once (IE enjoying the action, tracking the baddies and planning your next move to get the best style points.) Seriously, gamespot really needs some better gamers to play the games, then relay their experience to the writers. Writers on this site do not seem to be gamers. More times than not, when I see them complain about the controls or run into stuff like above I never experienced this.

"Wet isn't a particularly pretty game" I completely disagree, the normal maps on the character and style of game was great. Personally I hate photo realism, it's cheap. In my opinion taking a photo and mapping it onto a mesh, just looks terrible. Everything in WET is hand touched you can see the painterly touches on everything including Rubi. The normal mapping and parallax mapping are well used, not over abused, just enough to enhance things. Personally the reviewer needs glasses or a better TV / Monitor. I played the game in 1080p and it was beautiful. It's interesting that writers think they have a trained eye to say what looks good and what doesn't. Same could be said about the Mona Lisa, one could say it looks cheap and dated, because it's not CG rendered. That's just ludicrous. Also if they are not playing on a big screen 1080p how can they really tell. I'd like to see specs on which these comments are judged from. Not only that but as I said I don't like photo realism, it's cheap. I much more prefer the painterly look and stylized. So again it's personal preference and perhaps should be stated as such.

As for the voice acting; the lip syncing, when it was showing, was bang on. At least on my PS3. The dialog is what you would expect from any cheesy over the top type movie, similar to Army of Darkness. And Malcolm McDowell is always great! I quite enjoyed Rubi's cut scenes, the choices she'd usually give the people she hunted down was either tell me what I want and die painfully or don't tell me and die extremely painfully. Leave no one alive is her motto.

I was relieved and disappointed in the end. Disappointed that I didn't get fight Tarantula, as I was looking forward to it. But Relieved at the same time as I figured she was going to be hard. Though I would have preferred the challenge. I sort of wondered if they just ran out of time or planned it that way. The only two fights I found challenging that took me three tries, was the Ice House final fight and the final car chase fight. The motorcycles were a bit of a challenge to hit, before I switched to the explosive cross bow.

Wet is the only game I've played though twice back to back and my personal favorite level was the falling out of the airplane one. I was just about to call it a night when I hit that level and decided to just take a peek at it. Well after that the adrenaline was pumping and I was playing till 7am LOL!

Overall great game!
