The game is very simple. The story is just you (family of the King of the Cosmos) helping Katamari lovers and, once again, rebuild the cosmos. The gameplay is just you rolling the katamari! The Katamari is like a spiky ball (can take various shapes and sizes) that can roll stuff. You'll roll dice, hairpins, canned tuna, phones, cats, children, people, elephants, whales standing on the top of a skyscraper, the Eiffel Tower, clouds, islands, giant squids, rockets, mountains and so on. You'll just roll according to the katamari size you're asked, or according to the number of things, or all you can roll during a certain time. And what you'll see in the bedroom/village/school/Earth is just pure insanity and actually very good imagination! The dolls you'll be controlling are also very hilarious, with their innocent stupid looks and names. Oh, and don't forget you can use the presents you find on them, like an antenna, a giraffe hat, a long nose... whatever!
You play the game by rolling the katamari with both hands, meaning you'll be using both analog sticks in your controller. It's kind of weird at first but you'll get the gist of it quick. Let's also never forget the graphics that suit this game perfectly and the amazing soundtrack which is both beautiful and hilarious.
There's really not much to say about this game besides that everyone should totally buy it because this game is the most original out there and the best fun you'll get by playing a PS2 game. Happy Rolling!
