If this wasn't a sign of WCW losing its touch back then, I don't know what is.

User Rating: 2.5 | WCW Nitro N64
One of WCW's biggest mistakes when it came to their merchandise was letting AKI go. This game developmental company was responsible for 2 of WCW's best games for the N64: WCW vs nWo World Tour and WCW/nWo Revenge. So with them gone, WCW tried another knack at competing with the WWF when it came to video games. Needless to say, WWF won the war after this game was released.

WCW Nitro came out a year ago for the PS1 before finally they made it for the N64.......and it was easily one of the worst wrestling game I have ever played. If not, then of all time.

The only good aspect of Nitro was the roster. We had the big guns like Goldberg, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Scott Steiner, Rick Steiner, Bret Hart, Sting, Curt Henning and etc. And then we get to the BAD side of WCW Nitro:

- The control scheme was horrible.
- The wrestling engine looked like it was rushed.
- The camera angles were a disaster on 1P mode.
- Even the most basic of moves were extremely hard to pull off.
- Bad commentary and sound effects.
- Glitches galore.

As much as I do not like the way a lot of wrestling games are being treated, that with Yukes butchering the SmackDown series with unnecessary gameplay features, though I would play games like that over WCW Nitro. This was the worst game ever made in my opinion and I'm lucky to have rented this for a weekend.

In the meantime, there was a bright side: WWF picked AKI up and gave us both WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy. WCW's stupid loss, WWF's big gain.

Don't play WCW Nitro, avoid this game like the plaque.
