Don't listen to the gamespot review, or any others for that matter!!! This is a good game and loads of fun!!!
So here is the breakdown:
Graphics- The graphics in this game including the cutscenes are just amazing. Rorschach's and Nite Owl's character models could not be much better, other than when they talk in game their mouths don't move, but its a downloadable game keep in mind. The environments are gorgeous as well and highly detailed.
Genre and gameplay- this is a beat em up game with some great combat and you can play as either Nite Owl or Rorschach. THIS GAME IS NOTHING LIKE STREETS OF RAGE!!! Streets of Rage is a great classic game don't get me wrong, but Watchmen End is Nigh has great combos and unbelievably brutal finishers with both characters. The blood and teeth you see fly our of your enemies when you are kicking their asses is awesome. I will admit that it is a repetitive because all of your enemies do look the same throughout each level you are in but it is fun nonetheless. It is also fun to search for all of Nite Owl's and Rorschach's unlockable combos and energy meter power ups.
Story- the story to this game is a little bland but leaves you wanting more. This game is a prequel to the graphic novel so don't get all bent out of shape thinking it is going to bring shame to the book. The ending makes you want to play episode two when it releases eventually and i can't wait for it to come out.
Overall- This game is not revolutionary or for everyone but for fans of the graphic novel who just want to beat some ass with a couple cool heroes, this is your ticket. So if this sounds good to you, then download it and enjoy.
