The Grand-Daddy of Post-Apocalyptic RPGs.

What Bard's Tale did for Swords and Sorcery, WASTELAND did for the Post-Apoc genre. you lead a party of 4 PC's, ( can be less, depending on gameplay, can be more) and up to 3 npc's initially through the survivable area of America's southwest, from the triangle region of Las Vegas, Needles, and Quartz. while the small picture window of animated gifs may not be one to wow the player. the use of sound was great. you knew when you ripped a clip of ammo on full auto, or if you were holding a geiger counter, just how near you were to a radioactive hot spot during the day (they were visible at night) the ability to split the party, and switch between them was also a very novel one, allowing characters to go in tight spaces, or privately gather information. Join the Desert Rangers Today! Great Replayability, familliar BT style interplay engine, really a must have, even if on it's 2 original c-64 disks, or it's singular 720 pc.
Don't expect great graphics, just Great story.
