Not what I expected .... letdown.

After seeing this game on ebay I purchased it. Unfortunately it is not up to par with other strategy games. Rather than building an army and having Caesar lead them to victory, this game pretty much gives you armies and has you fight opponents such as pirates and others. There is little variabilty in the army types. If you've played Genghis Khan for the NES this is the best I can describe the army types. I guess I see it as a hybrid of this and destiny of an emporer. Don't confuse this with those type of strategy games, however. Rather than nation building or strength building, you will spend your entire time in battle. There is no weapons finding, maze, or anything of that sort. The story line is pretty weak and after each battle there is a short scene. Thats about it.
Graphics: Pretty poor. It is reminescent of Destiny of an Emporer from NES. As the next generation system (in its time), this game was a step back to the 8-bit genre.
Playability: You'll definitely never want to play this more than once. I did get one good play out of it.
Music: Annoying.
Overall, I'd recommend not buying this game. There are a heck of a lot better strategy game out there for any system.
