Warioware snapped can be a really fun game, but only if you find the right light to play it in.

The warioware franchise has always been about fast paced microgames with simple controls but a large variety of minigames. In the recent years of the series, it has become a prime example of what Nintendo's newer consoles can do. On the Ds it used the touch screen well, it became a perfect match for the wii's motion controls, now it draws its attention to the DSi's camera to bring another innovative way of playing microgames. Unfortunately the game's strong point is also its weekest point. Playing the game can be fun but struggling to get the camera to cooperate can ruin the whole experience.

The game has a carnival/theme park theme with rollercoasters. You can choose from 4 different characters each with their own set of 5 microgames. The microgames involve different actions with your hands and head such as tilting your head to pour water, moving you hands to collect coins, and more. The microgames are fast, fun and fit perfectly in the warioware universe. You also get a hilarious music video at the end that recaps all the motions you did. It can be very funny to watch and it brings a wonderful charm making everything come together nicely. With all the above being said, the entire experience can be ruined by the camera's cooperation. Before each set of minigames you are asked to line you face and hand up to the camera so it may reconize you. The problem is that the camera is not able to recognize the difference between you and backround colors 100% of the time. Other times it may reconize you but the silhouettes or shadows it created of you will not be strong enough to play the minigames. Its best to play the game in a very bright room or have the light directly behind you.

Overall its a charming game but not what you would come to expect. The company that makes the system itself should be able to make the games for it with much better compatibility. Its still worth a look with its fun microgames and wacky humor, just make sure you find the right light to play it in.
