Everyone, no matter who they are, simply must play this game.

User Rating: 9.8 | Wario Ware, Inc: Minigame Mania GBA
Wario Ware is, without a doubt, the single oddest game that I have played in all of my years of gaming. Yet at the same time, it manages to be one of the best. How is this so? Read on dear friends..... To begin with, the gameplay is nothing short of both bizzare and ingenious. As the player, you must play-test various "microgames" that Wario and his buddies have developed for his new game company. Thus, you must play through each of them in rapid succesion, scoring a point for each time you do so successfully. Once you have passed a certian score, a new set of microgames will open up for you to play. Then, if you want, you can replay the set of microgames that you have just played so as to attain the highest score that is humanly possible. As is such, there is no real way to "beat" this game, although it should be your objective to unlock all of the microgames and the various secrets that have been stored within this cartridge. The games are organized into several different categories, from sports games to intelligence testers that require you to match various shapes or seek out object in a field of similar objects. Playing through the games is nothing short of breathtaking. Each one of them lasts for no more than five seconds. Once you finish one you are immediately sent to another one, wether you fail to win the game or not. Staying alive for a longer period of time will advance the game forward to even faster speeds until it reaches a pace that is almost certian to give you a seziure. Really, it's quite amazing. The games are presented to you in a quite direct fashion. It starts by taking you to a sort of "Bridge-screen" (I have no idea what to call it). This screen stays up for about a second, displaying your score and playing a little tune to get you a bit more into the game. Then it sends you directly into the first microgame. When the game comes up a brief instruction as to what you have to do, such as "Dodge!" or "Count!" appears. After you finish the game, you are returned to the Bridge-screen, your score increases by one unless you have lost your last life, and the process repeats itself. The games themselves are a laugh-riot. They range from nose-picking to diamond catching. One game involves shaking a dog's paw before it starts crying. Another revolves around snorting a booger into the nose of a fair maiden. Clearly an unusual pastime. Other games resolve around such things as classic Nintendo games, turning a frog into a prince, and giving haircuts. Really, I would reccomend this game solely on the bizzareness of the games alone. The graphics are great. Sure, they may not be of space-age quality, but the sheer variety of them is simply-mind blowing. You can go from the sheer simplicity of the "catch the chicken in the tweezers" game to a highly detailed F-Zero themed game. There are games with photo-cutouts, faux Virtual-Boy graphics, and weird little stick-figure charachters. All of them show up perfectly, and there are no problems with the graphics being too small or blurry. Sound is okay. A lot of it involves Wario or one of the other charachters talking to you, athough usually it's pretty hard to understand what they're saying. The in-game music is pretty good, and it speeds up as the game does. Sound effects are typical "boings" and "bleeps", although the games based on Nintendo classics have the very nice feature of including the sound effects that come from the orginal games that they were based on. Replay on this game is absolutely through the roof. Getting a high score in this game is an ultimate test of skill. Being able to come near a hundered points is a true example of greatness, and reaching incredibly high scores will prove just how great you are to the world. Better yet, there are even certian games that have been hidden in the cart for players who can score high enough to unlock them. These are full versions of certian games that may or may not be farmiliar to most gamers. Some of them have even been changed to add a Wario-like twist to them. So to conclude, this is an awsome game. I would highly reccomend it to anyone with a GBA. And if you don't have a GBA, run out and buy one so that you can play this. You truly will not regret playing it.
