Surprinsingly good and under-rated.
The graphics are gorgeous and perfectly capture the essence of 40k. Orks, Titans, chaos, everything feels right and looks like everything you've ever dreamed of reading your codex instead of listening to school.
The music is good and successfully create an oppressing atmosphere during battles.
The gameplay, although not perfect, is fun and contrary to traditional TPS games, ecourages you to take risks and engage the enemy with melee weapons. Success is a combination of long distance shoot and close combat, and proves to be more strategic than it looks, mostly because you need to kill an enemy to regain llife, hide to regenerate your shield and fight to activate your fury, which means you always have options and can handle the battle the way you like best.
The arsenal of weapons is quite good and includes and awesome laser shotgun, sniper rifles, gatling guns and plasma cannons which you have to charge but sends a shockwave that make your enemies fall. YOu can also choose between a chainsword and a battle axe, bt at certain moments can wield the warhammer and crush everything in sight, in combination to the jetpack, wich allows you to charge from the sky and stun a grop of enemies.
The scenario avoids emotional moments and boring blabla, and focuses more on the background of the characters, which works perfectly for me as a 40K fan because it actually looks like a character you could buy and paint yourself and doesn't use Warhammer a an excuse to create borng cutscenes. Action first.
I love this gale and couldn't put it down. Can't wait for a sequel. It's really under-ratd and now very cheap, it deserved better.
have to say that if you're not familiar at all with 40k ths game might not interest you that much since you will be missing all the refrences, backstory and exciting "wow" moments like seeing the Titan Move or the Blood Angels joining the final assult.
