Pretty much a Hack, Slash n' Shoot that gets boring rather quickly. To the seasoned gamer nothing really stands out.
In Space Marine it was rather nice to see the world of warhammer 40k on the ground through the eyes of an ultra marine... But the gameplay just kills it.... It becomes a mind numbing slaughter against just waves of boring enemies. First off just the way your character reacts to the environment and the combat is just so mechanical. The level designs are built in such a way where you know when and where the enemies will attack you before it even happens. Your team-mates are pretty much non existent and aren't even lovable. It would of been half decent if they could just have the campaign a co-op option... That way you don't have to break a finger trying to clear the level with the mindless mashing.
Space Marine is simply, Mash, Run, Mash, Run, Die. No real tactical situations ever!
The multiplayer is at least half decent but just like other multiplayer shooters if you're starting off your gear sucks and you gotta grind for hours to get the cool stuff..
The reason why i'm so strict on this game is because I expected more from Warhammer 40k... But mostly I blame the devs on this one for leaving a sour taste in our mouths and bruised fingers.
