Kill-Team is an intense yet simple one-shot in the Warhammer universe.

For a downloadable title, especially one on consoles, Kill-Team puts up a pretty good fight. It's fairly inexpensive, and it boasts a great setup for some good ol' fashioned sci-fi warfare.

In the fashion of "Gauntlet", two players can choose their preferred type of soldier out of the typical ranks. Types range from the Fully Ranged, to the Fully Melee oriented. The game is superb as a co-op experience by the way. As they make their way through the game, the soldiers are upgraded with amazingly destructive weapons. Firing a three-way flame thrower into a horde of enemies never gets old, and mowing enemies down with a never reloading machine gun doesn't either. You are guided through an enemy ship with your narrator, who sounds like Captain Picard, blasting a path of hell fire on your way.

Players need not know anything about Warhammer to play this game. The plot is simple: you are a super soldier, and Orcs are bad guys.

The graphics are incredibly detailed. Not a glitch or fuzzy texture can be spotted (unless you count the fact that you walk through friendlies like ghosts). The only downside to the graphics is the viewpoint. Of course it's intended to be a top-down shooter, but that can sometimes make the game feel closed in, and claustrophobic. Sure you're on a massive Orc ship, filled with enemies and danger, but you're only allowed to go where you're supposed to. That's no fun. Because of the game's claustrophobic nature, much opportunity is squandered in Kill-Team.

If you're a casual gamer who loves shoot-em-ups, or you have a younger player in your home who you wouldn't mind sharing some time with, Kill-Team is awesome. It's fast-paced, it's easy to understand, and the destruction is always applause worthy. Just don't come to this game looking for a sprawling RPG with choices to be made and worlds to save; you're here to party, not discuss politics.
