So the game has gone through several incarnations so far. Imo it started off most fun of all, got super nerfed, and has been struggling ever since.

The designers really have just been whittling away at every unit that might require some actual skill to use, and put more and more focus on blob armies. This dropped the floor right out of this game, especially when combined with simply horrific lag.

The single player stuff is decent if you've never played an rts before, but if you have even the basics mastered, it becomes the same thing over and over again. Plus the npc's you fight all have different statistics even 2 models that appear the exact same, so you could have a slugga over here that has 100 hp, and the one standing next to him has 1k hp. Its just really badly done to the point of just laziness.

The newest expansion they included imperial guard (ig) into the mix, and i was excited by this, but they just feel kinda....like somethings missing imo, and overall they dont appear to be that popular. I still prefer the previous expansions race of chaos myself altho that was about the time they started to ruin the game.

If your looking at this i would honestly recommend just playing the first game. The hero's are nice in this, but the armies are all much smaller, yet the lag is much more, the maps are much smaller, etc etc. imo the first game had alot more to bring to the table, and apperently soul storm is still supported for multiplayer.
