Da Waaagh erupts in March 2011! Check out the new trailer for Warhammer 40k, Dawn of War II: Retribution.
aww, im sort of disappointed. i was really hoping that there would be a sequel to chaos rising. oh well who can hate saying FOR DA WAAAGH!! :p
Okay. I understand that the Space Marines have become sort of the flagship race for the DoW series. An' don't get me wrong, I love playing as the SMs. But it's good that the Orks get the lead (Again). =^) An' just so happen to be my favorite race. x^D
I MISSED BASS BUILDING AND CREATE AN ARMY LIKE DOW SOULSTORM ,, I LIKED TO MUCH , I HOPE SOMEONE AGREE WITH ME
Thank the maker... we get to play a single player oriented warhammer 40k game that is not a space marine centered game (or a human centered game). The original warhammer40k dawn of war centered on space marines, the first expansion on imperial guards. Then next 2 stand alones were pretty much multi player oriented games with an excuse for a single player campaign. Anyhoo good to see the orks... but wish some way we could fit the tau in there. Hopefully they will introduce tau in dawn of war III.
It's with games like these I wished that I liked RTS games, but sadly I don't :( I'm more of a careful strategizer and RTS games is too fast for me to set up a plan I'm satisfied with. I'm always left with a feeling of half measuredness because I didn't have enough time to think through my choices. Looks good though.
Really? No base building? I might be wrong, but why is it tagged as a "real time strategy" game all over the internet then? Starcraft series are tagged as RTS too, and I can't see too much similarities between them. The Commandos series are tagged as RTS too...Hmm... I think it's more like a "real time tactical combat", and I really like this kind of game!!
At least there's no base building, thankfully. Totally not interested in producing or collecting resources, building bases and the like. In the time frame of the game, it's nonsense. These are tactical combat games, not some multi-year civ sim. And that's a good thing!
I agree, its a lame trailer. Altho i loved DoW2:CR this trailer doesnt make me want to play retribution!
I love DoW2. Love it. But whoever put this trailer together should be shot. Very substandard work. Not a good way to market, even if you are only trying to produce for current fans while you shift focus to the next segment of the franchise.
@Anicsin: the original dawn of war's trailers went from good to terrible (starting from warhammer 40k: dawn of war to Soulstorm). Seems they just get lazy with every sequential game.
DOW game has the best voice over among all video games I've played to the date, especially space marine and orcs. Too bad DOWII made space marine way too overpowered and never give other factions a slight chance
Noticing the "I" in the subtitle Retribution is the stylized I used by the Emperor's Inquisition. Perhaps some significance hinted as to what sort of trouble is heading for Angelos' faction after their "apparent betrayal" ?
THANK GOD, ORKS EMPHASIS!!!! Tired of all the corny space marines. Chaos was cool, but doesn't hold a candle to DA ORKS. I refuse to play any other race, orks has by far the most personality. If you pause the screen at some places you'll see lasers shooting and infantry, I believe it will be Imperial Guard... finally.. awesome.
I'm hoping this means we can play a campaign as da orks? Otherwise what's the whole orkish emphasis about
