You don't have to be a Warhammer fan to enjoy this fantastic RTS/RPG.

When I was playing Dawn of War II I was amazed at how good it was. I am glad they kept many of the same game-play mechanics that were in the first two games, while adding more game play mechanics to the mix.

This time around instead of commanding 4 squads at a time, you can command as much as needed, and call down more troops, tanks and more support if needed. One of my major complaints with DoW II was that your 4 squads could be easily overwhelmed, whether it be by bosses or by other troops, and I am glad they decided to give you the ability to even the odds with this expansion.

The ability to upgrade troops on the field is an amazing feature, you can adapt your units for certain situations while fighting, instead of being caught off guard.

What is also great is that you do not need the original DoW II to play this expansion which is a bonus, however if owned either one of the first 2 games, you can import your character into Last Stand mode.

As for the multi player, it is as solid as ever. Even on my wireless connection there is no lag to speak of and generally games go smooth. Also the Co-Op mode has been nailed once again.
Also what is great, is that they got rid of "Games for Windows Live" which was redundant considering the game was on steam.

The voice acting is solid, and the Space marines sound really good. (Kinda like a British Darth Vader)

The only issue with the game I found was when I was trying to change the video settings, it kept saying my DirectX version was out of date (which it isn't) and then quit the game. A small issue, but it needs a fix which will probably arrive in a later patch.

Overall the game packs a lot of content, which makes it worth the £29.99 on steam. Even if you're not a WarHammer fan, you'll enjoy this game. Well worth playing over the bank holidays.
