its alright BUT it lacks alot

having played IGG's Voyage Century Online for many months after it left "beta", i can honestly say. its a decent F2P game based on its style. but there are many things its lacking. the top one for me, decent support staff.

when i played their one xmas event was a total wash. 40+ people crammed inside athen's church and only about 5 people got any soft of event item.

on-top of that IGG never once listens to its player base about events. bugs, or any other problem. and its not just VCO its every IGG game. (dont believe me? try VCO or their other games.. support is horrid) their localization needs work as well. as the game is said to be "NA" based you would expect decent english quest descriptions but what you get is singlish instead on top of that some npcs/targets dont even match the quest target.. there is quite some lag as well when i last played but its to be expected in a F2p game where most of the players have 3 mules either mining/logging/farming/selling. all in athens...

though i will say for such an old game (eng is pretty dated) the animation is pretty good and the sea battles is enjoyable. the most rewarding factor of the game is the ship vs ship battles be it player vs player or player vs npc the ships are pretty decently animated and detailed. perhaps not on par with POTBS but its still pretty good.

(it should be noted there is a german/euro VCO version out with better english translations then IGG's both are the exact same game just different companies..)
