Solid,but overrated.

Well I just got this game for my pc and I must say overall it is good-above average gameplay and fun factor. The graphics are outdated, but it is a Dreamcast port from 2000,so that is expected. But I think this game is overrated as well. All I ever heard about Virtua Tennis before trying it is it's the greatest tennis game ever made,masterpiece,etc.,etc.,...and while it is good it is not all that. The gameplay is fun,but it is really just glorified Pong-
instead of a bar that only moves top to bottom, you get a polygonal player that can move 8 directions in 3D,but that is the only difference. There is only
1 button(yes,1) used for hitting the ball. There is a second button for lob but that is usually useless. Also there are far too many dives by players where they hit the court trying for out of reach balls-not too realistic. There are also only 2 camera views, the standard and a crappy close-up one.The standard camera sucks in 1-player mode because 1/2 the time you are forced to play from the top of the court-I understand why this kind of fixed camera is necessary for 2 players, but in 1 player you should always view behind your player like other games.Say you're playing Madden-would you like to be forced to play offense from the top of the screen going down? No,right ?Or chess-would you like to play the black side from behind the white pieces? No as well. For 1 player modes, sports games should ALWAYS fix the view behind you. Only 2 camera views to choose is sucky.THe close-up one is alway behind your player, but it is too close. So to conclude this game is overall good, but people need to get off its d**k,esp. since Topspin
dethroned it 4 years ago anyway.Peace.
