Okay so I'm not going to rant about how good other versions of Sega's Virtua Fighter 2 but I'm talking the inferior Mega Drive release. Why would anyone want to port an excellent 3D fighting to a 2D fighting game for the Mega Drive when it's life support is out is just anyone's guess.

You pick from one of eight different characters (instead of 10 in the other versions), each with their own range of attacks that you can pull off. Some of these may require multiple input attempts before it actually works due to the game's incredibly clunky controls. Sure it's the same as the arcade with it's control setup like one button punches, one button kicks and the last button for blocking, but however though cause the game is in 2-D, much of the timing that the series is known is all of the window here and sometimes the inputs don't work at all.

The game does provide multiple rounds that you can set up or you can set the amount of health for both plays to have either large, small or unlimited health which is simply cheating but leads to simple sumo matches since you can win by knocking the opponent out of the ring.

Dispute being in 2D the game for the most runs smoothly at a solid framerate but when you get to the last fight with Dural the game's framerate drops down completely which makes him easy to beat when you can read his movements. The graphical environments at least do look kind of nice but however the character animations are horrible and extremely jerky especially their victory poses. At this game also kept the sound effects as well as the voice samples from the arcade, they do sound good in Mega Drive form but the music track do sound aright.

This version of the game is simply not recommended towards fans of Virtua Fighter and also fighting game fans, you'd only play it if it were featured in a Sega Compilation Disc. It's simply a waste of 800 Wii Points and overall it's just a total joke on the Mega Drive and you shouldn't play this version at all.

The Good Points:
---------------------
1. At least there's good voice samples and the environments are nice in 2D form

The Bad Points:
---------------------
1. Awful graphics and animations
2. Broken down battle system
3. Terrible frame rate at the final boss fight
4. Just a complete waste of time and money
