In the words of Joe...."Henshin-a-go-go-baby"

User Rating: 9 | Viewtiful Joe (Pink Version) GC
Joe is your average joe out on a movie date with his girlfriend Sylvia when the villain from the movie comes out and kidnaps her. Joe quickly follows her into the movie to rescue her. He quickly meets his hero, a movie hero named Captain Blue, who gives Joe the V-watch which allows him to transform into his superhero alter-ego: Viewtiful Joe.

The game is a great side-scrolling beat-em-up. In the beginning all you can do is jump, punch and kick, but after recieving the V-watch he gains the abilities to double-jump, slow down time, and eventually speed up time and get a close-up that enhances all of his attacks. These are your VFX powers which, when used, decrease your V-watches energy level. When you V-watch empties you will be stuck as regular Joe for a limited amount of time. In addition to fighting, your VFX powers will come into play during some puzzles, such as using Mach Speed to set yourself on fire or using slow-mo to stop a slot machine at the right time. The fighting is simple but fun. Moments before your enemies attack an indicator will tell you if the attack is high or low, giving you time to dodge or launch an attack of you own. It might sound easy, but the enemies are numerous and will often outnumber you, which is why you will want to show some style while fighting. If you slow down time and start attacking a stunned enemy you can hit him into other enemies which will earn you more Viewtifuls and cause more damage. Viewtifuls can be used to purchase upgrades inbetween levels including upgrades to your VFX Powers (Slow, Mach-Speed.and Zoom) , your health, and some completly new attacks.

As you travel through the level you will often have to stop and complete a challenge before you can move on, ranging from defeat X number of enemies to finding a key for a locked door. The challenges repeat often, but luckily they never get repetative.

The games graphics are cel-shaded and have alot of style and charm.

The game also has unlockables for beating the game (unless you played on Kids Mode) including new characters and difficulty modes, which provide some replay value

This game is amazing,old-school,viewtiful fun.
