Viewtiful Joe is a very fun game that will have you sticked with the controller for quite a long time. This is a great side-scrolling game for the Nintendo Gamecube. It is great for people who loved the old 8-bit games for the NES. The game contains several puzzles some easy, some will take you time to solve them. Viewtiful Joe has 3 main weapons in his arsenal: slow-motion, mach-speed and zoom that will make you very viewtiful, but he must get them from his friend captain blue. for slow-motion press the L button and every thing will get slow, and joe can dodge almost any attack. For Mach-speed press the R button and everything will get at lightning speed even your punches. For Zoom press the B button an the camera will zoom to joe, in this mode you can make special and strong attacks. These can be used for battles and for puzzles.
The objective in the game is to rescue Silvia, Joe's girlfriend from an unknown robot. There are 7 episodes in de whole game, they are pretty long. Each with 2 stages and one boss.
The storyline is pretty good. Joe goes to see a movie about captain blue with Silvia. Blue gets defeated by his enemy in a robotic fight and gets knocked off the screen. This dark robot kidnaps Silvia then captain blue carries Joe to the movie to become the new hero of the movie.
After every stage every stage can save, continue and go to the store. In this store you can buy many upgrades and weapons like boomerangs and bombs. You can buy hearts to make your life gauge longer, buy cheeseburgers to recuperate stamina. You can also buy new moves like red-hot kick or sliding.
this game offers a lot of cool stuff that make it more than worthy to play. even when you’ll beat the game for the first time you’ll want to beat it again and again.
