the only problem is see it that the guy wasn't doing the exercises correctly or half assed...yet he blames the kinect. LMFAO
HAHA I'ts funny because He's fat :) Writting in a serious way now, let me tell that I think this is a good game for Kinect, on the other hand, the review made by Kevin VanOrd, was remarking negative points of the game that are NOT THAT BAD. Firstly, if you're saying yourself that it's one of the first games for the kinect, you would be expecting that the technology used in the development of the game won't be top-notch, so you can`t really complain about the game not tracking your moves correctly when you`re using baggy shorts and a loose shirt to do the review, I would understand your point if you were reviewing Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2 o 3, but not the first one, so I think you're expecting too much when it´s the first time around for the game in the Kinect system. The other point is, (and let me tell you, I've really watched closely) is that YOU THINK THAT YOU'RE DOING THE MOVES PERFECTLY BUT YOU'RE NOT, so for me it's not that picky when it comes to correct your moves, and on top of that (again) you're not doing the game a favor when you're using those clothes to do the review. I'm not saying that this review is useless, but is not that fair either. I really expect not to be taken as some troublemaker who wants to criticize your work in a not-constructive way. That's all.
I'd play this game naked, but I'm afraid that the game will mistake my penis for my leg or something
Still not convinced of buying kinect not sure if the hardware is precise enough....yeah Kevin tatt is cool.
I wonder and I don't want to offend Kevin VanOrd but since he lost a lot of weight, who's going to play Santa Claus far later in December? It would be funny if no one wants to be Santa Claus anymore because everyone has lost weight but oh well. Maybe our lives would be complete without father Christmas around.
I play xbox and pc,wife plays wii but My wife has a medium disability which left her partially paralized a bit like a stroke. She never played a videogame before the Wii but we got kinect and it is far better/easier and I get to play a videogame with her so to us it has been totally worth its weight in gold. good review gonna buy this game today : )
@JohnisGodd -- It's only to make sure a staff comment can't become hidden. The downside, of course, is that you can't thumb me up. Assuming "thumb me up" isn't some unusual euphemism.
@Kevin-V Why don't gamespot people have a thumbs up or down thinge. I find fairly annoying that when I notice a good retort, I can do nothing about it. Besides adding a new comment. Such as this. And then uppng this comment.
@Fancelot -- You've never heard of sweat pants or sweat shorts, or t-shirts? Most people I see at the gym don't wear leotards and lycra. Perhaps you attend a gym populated with incredibly beautiful, tight-bodies people that wear skin-tight clothing? In any case, I wasn't wearing super-loose clothing, just regular old t-shirt and shorts. It's the stuff I work out in most every day, and the kind of thing most people I know work out in. And it can definitely trip the game up.
I don't know what's sadder, the fact that he has an assassins creed tattoo or the fact that I instantly recognized it as being from assassins creed...
@vadicta -- @Crypto145 -- I wasn't sure I was ready to display my naked body on gamespot.com. Maybe the next Kinect review!
So, there's no word on how well the game works when you're naked. Talk about a lack of depth in today's reviews...
@pyrofire -- As I mentioned already below, much of the footage was taken early in the game while I was first learning the exercises. But there are real problems with motion recognition here, as a visit to the game's official forums can attest.
With all due respect for the game. The reviewer guy wasn't doing the moves right. I've been playing the game and it doesn't let you half-ass it like in the review. When it says lung lower, it mean lung lower. just shifting your footing doesn't count.
@Kevin-V I just wanted to say congratulations on losing so much weight! Keep up the great work! Had nothing to do with the game review but, oh well.
@Rocker6 wait, i thought i was the only one visiting gamespot after running from the fuzz... dang. there must be dozens of us!!!
kinect really is a good controller idea but in order for it to succeed it can't rely on games like this. companies like rockstar and bioware and many other big names really should make games for kinect. i really hope for this to succeed but with games like this, never. only game i'm waiting for kinect is steel battalion, there just ain't other big names. i really hope game companies take this seriously and not pass this
This is a workout? Today I had a real workout, running from cops through woods.Thats the real thing, not this Kinect.
Love the tattoo =) Game looks better than I thought. Still won't be getting Kinect for awhile though.
@Kevin-V OK I was just curious about that because it looked to me like you weren't following your trainer but you cleared that up, thanks.
@mack10 -- Yeah, most of the footage came from relatively early in the game when I was still getting used to the exercises. But there are real problems in there, particularly if you wear regular shorts and t-shirts and not tight clothing.
Sorry Kevin but you repeatedly said "the game isn't forgiving even when you follow your trainer exactly" and then you guys showed clips of you doing exactly the opposite.
@brickdoctor agreed when both were announced I thought that swinging at least something with buttons will be better but now I admit my wrongness
