Lol they really had nothing, I dont blame them, you do what you can with what you were given.
The problem is that when you've only seen pictures and and a video with a few images you dont make a video titled "Xbox One: Everything You Need To Know" but something more like "Xbox One: The few things we were allowed to see" ... lol
These comments are ridiculously hilarious! I love the fact that people are jumping to conclusions without knowing what's in store at E3. Think about it, you need to show the majority of gameplay footage and hardware specs and all that at E3 and that's more appropriate. If you show everything at reveal, how will you follow up to E3? It's the same reason why PS4 stuck to social stuff and other features. MS version = more entertainment and TV. Sony version = More social adventures. For all those who want Games, WAIT FOR E3!
Still, the only way we will know which console comes out on top will be the time when both consoles releases. Only time will say.
The Xbox One is historic epic levels of failure. We're talkin huge intergalactic death star levels of fail.
I hope everybody realizes their Xbox One will become a very expensive brick and the collection will be turned into a very fine set of coasters next decade when Microsoft decides to turn off the Xbox One servers because the Xbox Future has come out and its not backward compatible with Xbox One games.
You would have to be a sucker of massive proportiona to fall for this because you will NEVER own another Xbox game. You will only be renting it until Microsoft decides its time for you to upgrade.
After that you will be foced to pay for everything all over again including games you have already bought once their follow up to Xbox One comes out.
As a game collector of mild obsession, I for one do not buy or support the used game market. I like my games to be pristine straight out of the box. This is soon to be academic anyway as the digital market is expanding at a rate of knots. And with Cloud featuring more and more in the method of storage then I think the whole 2nd hand market is doomed anyway. So folks just go with the flow, ease up your blood pressure levels and chill out with the machine or machines of your choice. 2nd hand users keep hold of your 360s coz from what I heard at the beginning of the reveal MS is still going to support the old girl for a little while longer. Calm Down Calm Down.
Everything you need to know: Not only did xbox one reveal destroy enthusiasm for the next xbox, but it just may have squashed enthusiasm for the entire next gen wave. Wow. That is a truly amazing achievement of epic failure proportions.
Out of all these lamentable features, my favorite is that it has 3 OS's. It's almost like Microsoft is trying to one-up the red ring with the first console blue screen...
Ok, did it seem to anyone else that the whole switching from TV to game to channel guide was staged? He started with Xbox in the beginning of every switching, but one time he said lets see that again and didn't start with XBOX for it to recognize the command. I do believe that it will do all they say but that it has problems like the Kinect recognizing commands that they didn't want to show in revealing.
I have only one question as it is the most important criteria for me to buy a console: Will games be region locked? I pick my games from travel across the world and can't buy a console that can't play games from different regions.
Ok, everybody seems to have some deep concerns. Relax! It's just a console reveal. Everyone wanted to see a bunch of games, as did I. however we need to look at the bigger picture. Everybody is complaining that it was all about being a cable box etc... and not enough about gaming. Alot of you don't care to have that. But why not, it's free. I see all this extra stuff as bonus's, and that's it. Why not have all this extra functionality. I for one, am looking forward to all the extra and much improved fun stuff. Look at it like this. It's a free cable box. Comcast, Verizon and i'm sure the other cable/internet service providers charge you an extra13-15 dollars per HD-dvr box. Use that to convince your parents, wives, mates or whom ever to get it as just that, a cable box with a lot of game functionality which i'm sure it will definately have. You'll be saving them 12-15 dollars a month on probably an extra box that they are probably already paying for. Get rid of one cable box, add the XboxOne without the charge. I use it a lot to watch a ton of shows, on the xbox and I play a ton as well.
But wait there's more...I'm sure there there's going to be a ton of games 15 xbox exclusives ( which too me doesn't seem like too many but i'm not sure how many PS4 has) and even more tons of 3rd party games. Pretty much PS4 and PS3 are going to have the same games, give or take a game or two, who knows.
The Game Console Design. It is somewhat retro, but do we really need an xbox to look like a Klingon war ship...I actually like it and looks just as big if not bigger than the original ps3. It actually looks like a PC, which to me is kind of cool because PC is always bragging on power and gfx. It looks like their's a lot of stuff packed in there. it looks very solid with all sorts of hardware goodness.. Plus they've included a Kinect, that's a another bonus too me.
I've read alot of speculation on the cost of the new xbox. Some say 500 dollars, some 400 dollars. Either way that's a lot of money. what's one more hundred dollars. But you know what, we don't even know if that's true yet, because i don't believe it's been announced. Let's just wait and see. And the whole used game thing. Let's wait to get all the facts. But However true that is i usually prefer to buy my games new. I have purchase over 40 maybe 50 games new . I've purchase maybe be 3 or 4 games used if that, which i have regretted because all you really save is like 5 dollars maybe ten and to me that's just nickle and diming it. Hey i'm not rich, i'm not poor, i've got bills etc... and i'm not bragging. But everytime i went to Gamestop to sell a game i feel like a sucker, selling a game for a measily 10 dollars when they go arond and sell it for 30, or selling a game for 30 dollars and they sell it for 60. Or when they offer you 1 dollar for a game that they sell for 10 or more dollars. I would rather smash that game or even keep it then to give it to them. I'm actually a little spiteful on that matter. But i do sell my games but to bestbuy or amazon. They usually give me way better deal, not this trade in 5 games and get an extra 20 or 30 percent more bs.
I play Halo sometimes, but i'm a call of duty fan. But I do like that idea of a Halo TV show, bonus again...I think we need some good sci-fi shows, not enough good ones to go around. Oh and i have yet to play a sports game, not my thing which they showed a lot of at this reveal. But that hardly bothered me because i was really more interested in hardware. Not too mention that whole things of having 300 thousand servers compared to xbox 360's 15thousand servers. Too me that is a big jump. And Xbox is know for it''s great xbox live service. i think mostly everybody that has both ps3 and xbox 360 all prefer the xbox 360 interface and what not...
I don't know if you remember but way back when when the PS3 first came out they had to market it as a Blu Ray player to see more units because they we'rent selling as many as they wanted, smart tacktic but necessary. And not they were selling few but they needed to recoup. That's not different than what the xbox is doing now. And the PS3 did have to play copy and catch up on lots of services and extras such as trophy's (achivements in xbox 360). I have an xbox 360 simply because it came out first and a lot cheaper than the original ps3. i've been very happy with it and have logged tons of hours. I would have loved to have purchased a ps3 and almost did but after a while, it all pretty much seemed like the same. I would have loved to play the Killzone series, but never did. Oh well.
I love videogames back in the 80's. My last game system before xbox 360 was Intellevision. That was a long time ago and i marvelously introduced to Call of Duty 2, which too me is still one of my favorite games that's ever played. On behalf of XBOXOne, i'm going to waig until E3 to see what games they are going to introduce. You know this is all strategy my microsof and sony. they 're all just slowly unveiling. they don't want to give away their best stuff too soon. XBoXone showed a bunch of extra plus stuff and a lot of game console stuff and specs and PS4 showed a bunch of games, a controller and hardward specs. My guess is that for the E3 it's going to be the reverse. Microsoft alreadly got the Console stuff out of the way, maybe for E3 they'll be able to concentrate more on games and game play. Let's just wait and see
Xbox Defense Force is out in damage control mode and throwing fanboy word around like it was 1999. THank God for blind devotion if there wasn't any, there wouldn't be anything funny to laugh at on the interwebz
I really don't get all of the confusion over used games.
here's how it works, you buy a new game (along with the right to play it)
you download the game onto your hdd. now you or anybody in your house can play it, without the disk.
you can take a game to a friends house and download it there, and play it there. your friend can play too as long as you are there and signed in.
if you leave your friends house ,and you still have your right to play the game, but they want to play it after you are gone. then they will have to pay.
which is how it is now, when you take your disk back home with you.
if they( M$ ) didn't do this, they would only sell one copy of each game.
they will have a way to "give up your right to play"
and you will need to "give up your right to play" in order to lend somebody a game or to sell it.
When you buy a used game, you'll also buy " the right to play it". and it will start all over.
now EA or other dev's may have multiplayer only with initial purchase, like they do now, but that is beside the point.
All of the confusion is because M$ was thinking of us not having to stand up to find a disk to put in, in order to play.
which i appreciate. half the time I watch netflix is because I'm too lazy to get up and find a dvd.
PS4 will do the same thing, unless they just require you to have the disk in, in order to play the game
For the most part I am happy with the Xbox reveal and what the future for Xbox is. Many people still prefer Playstation to Xbox, but I one who is going to chose Xbox over Playstation. Hearing that I won't have to always have an internet connection in order to play games is a relief, but I am a little disappointed to hear that in order to play a used game I will have to pay a fee.
I have always been an Xbox fan since the days of the original when I first played Halo 1. Some may argue that this makes me a fanboy. I always see the arguments in the comments section between which is better and who is a bigger fanboy. I may be partial towards Xbox but I am free to give my opinion on it. I am not arguing which is better, but which of them I like more.
Because most of the games I buy are new games anyway, the whole thing with the used game fee is not a bother. Also at the reveal I really did like the look of the Xbox console and the controller. I believe I am one of the few. I also am not one to hate on the Kinect, depending on how it is used. I am all for using the Kinect as an interface option, and all the things that it can do with regards to navigation through the interface. But I am not one who enjoys using the Kinect as a gameplay device. I am a firm believer in the old fashioned gamepad. The Xbox controller. Also I am loving the DVR capabilities of the Xbox. As I have been on and off looking at buying some sort of console DVR for my Xbox.
Anyway this is me just sharing an opinion of which console I prefer, not which is better. And for reference I consider myself a hardcore gamer. Not one that plays Call of Duty and mainstream games, but one who plays RPGs such as Dark Souls and the Elder Scrolls...(Since Morrowind and also have played Arena and Daggerfall but Morrowind first). The closest I have come to mainstream is the Halo series, and that is because I started with Halo.
not so sure i like the checkerboard effect look of the new xbox.. Would prefer the whole thing to just be gloss black
This guy won't need to talk to his grandma via skype when he prob still lives in her basement. and no matter what sony does they will never take down microsoft. and i love how microsoft get's crap at least they showed the console and who cares what it looks like it's gonna be amazing they wouldn't make a console that sucks.and the fact all the sony fan boys crap on the new xbox when it's gonna be bad ass and if you actually paid attention to the show they need something to save for E3 being the games this was a unveiling of a console and at least they showed a console so go buy a console you've never seen lol and they're crap controllers.
I'd have thought they'd have more to show in the games department. I mean, it's not exactly like MS has been supporting 360 all that extensively over the last 2 years. Probably at E3 we'll see a little more, but damn why not show whatever the hell they've been doing all this time
So they poke fun at Sony for talking about games, games and games while showing no console only to unveil a console without showing any real games.
Maybe im wrong but I dont think they showed a second of actual in game footage in their games demo. Was it not just a cut scenes montage like the kind of thing you see in adverts?
Looks like im buying a Playstation 4. 1) Xbox one looks like crap 2) pay for games you own to other hard drives LOL I want a gaming console not a tv station. Xbox made a Bad mistake Making the console 500 dollars + 60 dollars a year subscription lol im a Playstation Fan now.
@Davhut it actually doesn't have to be that way.the problem is consumers who aren't aware give in to that foolishness. They're empahsizing too much on control. A flow like this isn't worth following. i rather be that one glass of water that represents truth as opposed to the river full of decit that is ms
@grbolivar ugly fugly
@sgt_F79 didn't Sony show a share button for social crap?
@the_requiem Isn't there a region free option anyways?
@DiscoVampire Here Here!!!! followed by supportive hand clapping. Well said Mate. First bit of sound writing I've seen all day.
@tomdom69 Dude you have mixed yourself.
@tomdom69 How does your explanation make what MS is doing a good thing? Did you have to pay to play a game lent to you on your 360? Why the hell of a sudden is this ok? Blind devotion is a bad thing, this is pure garbage. They just want more money for the same sale, this crap all started with all that Digital Rights crap, everyone got so damn lazy and though it was cool to give up physical media in lieu of digital. Here we are in step two, you don't own shit, you just rent it...the physical copy will soon be a thing of the past. Remember MS was planning to be a disc less system, why do you think you have to install you game, it's the only way to implement DRM, your HDD is locked to your system(hence why you can't replace it). MS can kiss my ass if they think I'm buying the koolaid they're selling.
@NInjagamer117 You must have internet connection, it's the only way to play. Say you have internet trouble when you turn on your system, you can't play because you never connected to the net that day...you are up shits creek with a system that won't run until you rectify your internet. Reducing your $500 Ultimate Entertainment thingy into one expensive BRICK!
Who really watches or has cable when you use Netflix and Hulu? What is the point of DVR if you have no cable to speak of? They have interesting things but these things are being peddled to whom exactly?
@spindie meh that's been done a thousand times now. gloss black.. gloss black...gloss black it's so boring, atleast do something different for christs' sake
@K1LLaMaNiLLa "who cares what it looks like it's gonna be amazing they wouldn't make a console that sucks"
Man you just gave up on the troll attempt right away. Thanks for the laugh.
@K1LLaMaNiLLa im a fanboy of whatever sucks the least lol
@K1LLaMaNiLLa Yeh, people like yourself and the casual market are why it's probably going to sell fairly well in spite of itself. That comment right there is the spitting definition of fanboyism
Thanks, i'm glad somebody read my long manifesto...
@kohle36 @K1LLaMaNiLLa people like me huh i've owned every console that has ever came out im not a fanboy its just funny how people shit on microsoft before they show any games. They are Showing whats different from whats out now and people don't like different and i'm a hardcore gamer have been since the atari 2600 so when i see whiny bitches pissing and moaning about worthless shit it pisses me off.
Yes... Because Fifa, Forza and CoD are so vastly different to anything we've ever seen before.
Also, if I'm not mistaken, Jeff said that AT THIS POINT he would choose a PS4 over an X1 because they didn't show many games. Which is a fair point considering that this thing is primarily supposed to be a games console, but that also means that once some exclusives have been revealed at E3 he may change his mind because he isn't a closed minded, self absorbed fan-boy like you are. Plus we've established that according to you, an opinion that differs from that of your own warrants childish insults, so considering that you're the kind to attack the person and not the argument, it's a safe bet that anything you say is a complete waste of time and energy.
You're quite clearly a raging fan-boy whether you want to admit it or not. Next time you get pissed off at "bitches pissing and moaning about worthless shit" try taking a look in the mirror.
@K1LLaMaNiLLa @kohle36 Yes, unfortunately hardly anything is different and what is different has nothing to do with gamers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KbWgUO-Rqcw
