X Rebirth - Gamescom Trailer
Take a look at new gameplay featured in X Rebirth
I played a few X games. I liked X2, but X3 just had too many stations per sector. I wish it would be more like Escape Velocity and have maybe 2 stations in a sector, max. 10 stations a sector really adds nothing to the game except make it needlessly tedious going from one station to the next buying/selling, when it could easily be done at one station.
Walking in stations and ships has me very interested. I'm a big elite-like games fan but i could never get into X before. Something about the boring way their universe is constructed. It never made exploration fun to me.
X Rebirth will be released for PC in Europe on the 15th of November 2013 and in North America on the 19th of November 2013.
This trailer promises me everything i ever hoped for thus i am extremely skeptical about this game and prevent my hopes going up.
wow... looks great! I love my X3 Gold Edition and this looks a big step up! I only worry my computer wont be able to handle it; ive got an old HD 4870x2 :(
The specs on Steam say this game *requires* 64-bit. Would this be the first PC game that won't work at all under 32-bit?
One question to someone who know more about thi upcoming "version" of X.... Can we land on any planet in this big universe to maybe start a small mining installation?? Or simply to explore some of that planet??
Hope it comes out 'polished' X games have kind of a reputation for launching quite buggy, usually get patched up but I hope they don't do that this go around.
@Carton_of_milk Then I guess you also have your eye on Star Citizen?
@Carton_of_milk I've always loved how it is a realistic echonomy and every action can have consiquences, but it's such an epic time sink it's not fun.
@Zloth2 Does anybody even use 32-bit? I've just built my first rig in five years and have been out of the loop on arcitecture during that duration, but from what I've gathered, 32-bit is pretty usless for any system designed with a gaming option.
@belgard1299 I don't remember seeing anything on going down to a planet. There are a LOT of details on Egosoft's forums, though. You can double check there.
I'm looking forward to the stations, they will be a lot better then staring at some docking clamps and a list of goods prices. Even if its not all that great, its a nice break after mining ore for 10 minutes.
Also looking forward to the new "high way" rather then using SETA for common destinations, I'm guessing you still have to use it when exploring a sector.
@The-Neon-Seal @Zloth2 It's only real use is if you've got a really old printer (or some such) that only has 32-bit drivers. Unfortunately, some folks get 32-bit just because they are afraid 64-bit might break something. Many of them won't even know they have 32-bit, which will leave them pretty confused when they try to run the game and Windows gives them a cryptic error.
