yeah ur right after 2 expansions wow they didnt changed nothing graphically....just the water, haha im sayin dis cuz i have a better laptop with my old pc i would of saying graphics dont matter
Sigh, you'd think with all the money they make, they would invest some in making a decent looking game for people with good computers. But eh, the age of WoW is probably over after cata anyway.
@FFMaster1290x i completely agree with you, given you thumbs up ;D and after all they could make graphics pack/mod for players with good comps, but would still keep players who can play with this dated kind of graphics......................... and now something completely different :D............................. bold truth is that graphics are superficial stuff that does not shine long, first you say ''oh my god Woow'' but after two weeks(read minutes) you start actually playing and then you completely forgot about shiny stuff and are busy with percentages, quests, interaction... you get the point :P peace
It looks great to me and the Goblin is so cute!!!! Seriously if you don't like wow don't dis it for others simply don't play it.
They can up the graphics and add a lot more detail to make it not so dated. Also, if your computer can't handle it, let me say one thing: if you can play wow for $15/month, $180/year, you can surely save up and do some upgrading to your computer, especially if you have trouble at low-mid settings. Find some new stuff, and suit yourself for a new age of technology. I say max out the graphics and let the players experience how a game is supposed to be played. Better graphics + great gameplay = a better experience. Deal with it.
@hmd117 WHAT!? "WOW is successful and therefore doesnt need a graphics overhaul".... are you being serious? if anything, WOW being successful should mean they should have ALREADY done it, to stay competitive. graphics have little to no impact on gameplay, what are you smoking? gameplay =/= game performance. they are completely separate. graphics effect performance, yes, but honestly the "lower graphics means more people will play" excuse is tired and old at this point. we arent talking about cutting edge, computer melting graphics here.... we are talking about graphics that dont look like they are from 2000.... it wouldnt be that difficult. WOWs graphics were honestly a little dated when the game was released.... and guess what.... lets take Eve online or even D&D Online (a F2P MMO for peats sake) for example.... YOU CAN HAVE 2 DIFFERENT CLIENTS! a high rez client and a standard client for those who dont have awesome computers. its WIN WIN..... and blizzard should have done it ages ago.
@Roland123_basic and I suppose EVE Online, Anarchy Online, Dark Age... etc had the same success as WOW? NO they didnt, sometimes is not about how good your graphics, and more on how good is your gameplay. having a graphic overhaul will Definitely effect your gameplay, beside lower graphics means lower min requirement of your PC or mac.
@metalman520 you are so full of crap dude.... look at EVE Online, complete graphical overhaul. Anarchy Online, complete graphical overhaul, Saga of Ryzom, complete graphical overhaul. Dark Age of Camelot, SEVERAL complete graphical overhauls. lots of games have done it, blizzard is just lazy and it would eat into their profits too much. activision has made sure that blizzard has turned into the most stingy, money grubbing company in the business.
@jubeCRash - They can't do an overhaul on the graphics without doing another entire game. That would be messing with the core game which they can't do. If they release another World Of Warcraft itl'll have to be WoW2 and abandon this one. All they can really do right now and for the life of the original game is to patch it like crazy. They will never be able to revamp the graphics from the ground up, sadly :-(.
Rofl, why don't they revamp all the graphics, the water looks so out of place with the rest. Make all the textures sharper and maybe add a bit shading here and there and maybe adding some life to the environment(not cows running rampant in elwyn).
WoW Is suppose to be a cartoony world. Plain and simple, Dragon age graphics wouldnt go well with the game
So.. the water looks nice and realistic, but don't you think it contrasts poorly with the rest of the cartoonish world?
