Wii U: 8 Unanswered Questions
We run down the eight questions Nintendo has so far left unanswered about its latest console.
The guy at the beginning sounds like a politician. Bit of a put off, but I’m still looking forward to this console. I figured out the other day that I could have bought a PS3 and a Wii for the same amount of money I’ve wasted giving Microsoft just to play my games online since 2005.
I hate when people fail to realize that Nintendo has always brought new things to the table. Perhaps not perfected the first time around, but out there giving the competitors more than enough time to perfect their Ideas. This tablet control is amazing, I do not care for graphics to much. From the looks of it Nintendo is really Optimizing the tablet/control play. Again making gaming different from others. It definitely is not your standard motion controls!! this in
fact connects you as a player with your controller and screen!!! great job Nintendo!!
For the next Zelda, here's 2 things that Nintendo NEEDS to put back. 1. Z-targeting: Skyward Sword was just god awful without that targeting system... I mean, it wasn't difficult at all (unless we're talking about Hero mode, that's another story), but having to throw arrows while aiming in first person was just irritating, expecially when the enemy is running toward you while you stand there, still like a stone. 2: the camera: Wind Waker was fantastic, you could adjust the camera the way you wanted, this added a lot to the gameplay in my opinion, the adjustable camera made the game smoother and more comfortable to play... Skyward Sword's camera wasn't bad, considering you couldn't almost do nothing about it, but I think that reintroducing the WW camera the series would gain a lot. Also, I read that Nintendo is creating new franchises for this new console, I can't wait to see what they've come up with!
Why do I get the feeling this will be a console with more shovel ware. Nintendo is great for 1st party games but has been lacking in the 3rd party support for years. Is this going to be a overclocked Wii or an actual new set of hardware? I would imagine that it will be as powerful as the Xbox 360 or PS3 considering the hardware is old by todays standards. The games are what make the system and the Wii lacked anything beyond their mascot games to compete. The Wii sold insanely well but that was mainly due to the included Wii Sports game. Sales werent exactly soring to the top with much else. I applaud Nintendo for thinking outside the box but lets hope their system can compete with the other 2 consoles that continue to provide excellent games to this day. Nintendo's 1st party games every 6 months don't cut it.
@Bog101 Wrong. Did you even watch the video? Seb Ford said that Ninja Gaiden 3 and Batman: Arkham City would appear on the Wii U.
Don't get me wrong, I like Nintendo. A long-time fan. But honestly, I'd rather have a "GameCube U" or something of the like. If the Wii U is going to be based off of the Wii, then it won't attract many new fans - because they'd probably expect more of the same. The Wii was a great console, but it was kind of disappointing. I might not get the Wii U, but I hope it succeeds.
HD zelda? Next xbox and PS in their way to make UHD console (ultra high definition) and yet, nintendo will falling behind.. again..
im not wasting no more money on another nintendo product i going to wait for the new xbox and ps4 nintendo is going way too fast and i know this is going to cost a lot of money
Yeh..I fell for the original Wii..not this time..I'm sticking to PC from now on..(I've owned every nintendo home console from nes - wii. none of their handhelds..don't want to buy some nintendo handheld to have it obsolete in 6 months.) And gamespot? seriously? fix your videos..and update to 1080.. We all don't use 15 inch crt's anymore. lol (vids are in a tiny window inside a box... 720p doesnt even fill that out.. then again..using a 24 inch @1080X1920 ...yeh)
Don't forget that Sony already has a wii U with existing hardware. Its called the Vita and a simple software refresh can give it the same experience as a wii-u. The differences are that the controller has console-level graphics, 'unlimited' range, and has a touch screen back :p
Meh. Don't really care, the systems probably going to be weak as hell. Its rumored to have a pissant 3ghz quad core AKA an xbox cpu. Also the controller scheme looks awful and the new Xbox and PS are both coming out a year later so they're going to have better hardware for sure. This system overall doesn't appeal to me in any way but of course this is my opinion and some of what I am basing this on is not confirmed (but still very likely). I hope its a good system, I don't want to see Nintendo die out but all it takes is one more Virtual Boy and they could be so far down the crapper even Mario can't get them out.
If it plays Wii and other anterior Nintendo games it could sell pretty well. But Nintendo are abit late, I mean Ps3 and Xbox will probably make new consoles within 5 years so will Nitendo always be 5 years behing on technology ? Or will they make a console every 5 years while the others make them every 10 years ?
the way i see it i'm hoping nintendo doesnt neglect the wii u due to the ds like the wii :l i want one but there are many questions still to be answered...give us news damn it!
Now all we need is to bring back some games from the past, like Battle Toads, Chakan the Foreverman, Clayfighters, Killer Instinct, Double Dragon, Castlevania, Illusion of Gaia, Duck Tales ect. How about and old school Dragon Warrior with updated graphics. And before the Wii dies out how about a Duck Hunt game !!
Good job Alianjaro. With 2 months of extra information you were able to know things that they didn't when the video was made. Amazing!
A lot of these questions are answered. For example, the cost will be around 400$, the controller will have chargeable battery, there will be at least 4 controllers etc. the other questions are useless. Dashboard, range etc. No offense but this vid looks like hating to me
How many Reggi-bucks will I have to shell out to get my hands on this? The main thing I care about is having more than one "U-pad". If there's only one,Nintendo will have to thoroughly convince me my family will still enjoy it.
KDSJFKLDSALKJFDSJLKFALKJ I really hope that the wii u will be on par or past with the ps3 and xbox 360 along with the rest of the wii u but I probably wont be getting this since i already have ps3 but still it looks promising
I really hope that they have graphics past or on par with Ps3 and Xbox 360 the same with the rest and BLUE RAY ANY1? :D but I don't think i will really be getting this cause i have a ps3 but looks promising
so let me get this straight...people thought the original xbox controller was "too big" nuff said...
The only thing I'll comment on is the battery life! Nintendo is known for their products ridiculous battery life and resilience! I had my GB SP collecting dust for years and turned it on a couple weeks ago and it works fine! And regardless of what anyone says, Nintendo would not back down on their ideas for anyone. I remembered a while ago another game site said Wii sale were down because no one was buying it anymore but what they didn't say was that almost every household interested in the Wii already had one! BUT that is just my opinion don't bite my head off. So, I'll be waiting patiently! The Wii U will have my support!
300 Dollar (€ 212,84) is a very good price, but the bad side is that in Europe it will cost 300 Euro wich is 422,85 Dollar...-.- and in England it might be 300 Pound wich is 478,52 Dollar. American people are really lucky...
The controller isnt a gimmick, 3D is a gimmick, this controller is an innvative new way to play games that Sony will desparately try to copy within the next 5 years while nintendo is putting out the next game-redefining feature.
I agree. I think it will be around $300 and I think its a fair price for what it is. I dont see Nintendo going much higher than that given their track record and appeal to fans of Nintendo as well as the "casual" crowd. I also hope it supports 4 tablets as I could see some great uses for multitablet support such as Mario Party's mini games, and games top down actions games. (Dungeon Siege III would be an example as being able to have a your own camera on your tablet with playing same screen co-op). I understand the price may be expensive for the tablet but let us decide if we want more than 1. I got all my gaming rage out in college (many broken PS3 and 360 controllers between me and the roommates) so I am not worried about breaking it. Either way I trust Nintendo. I was skeptic on the Wii but all in all it changed my mind on motion control gaming. I can see this working for them with the right 3rd party support to compliment their own 1st party support.
If the console was $299, I wouldn't care if remotes cost around $99. As long as it has 4 Wii U remote support!
@Sir_Prize_88 Yup, Microsoft are a bunch of scumbags. Sony4Life. I love Nintendo too though. <3
@ollie2000000 Me too... me too...
