Yeah too bad they lied about Multiplayer in this game. They specifically said they would have it, then they took it away and said it will be on the next game. You know what that 33% off for original buyers is? a sad excuse for an apology for ripping us off. Sorry but I will not be buying this crappy dlc, or an undead lab game ever again. By the way, microsoft will milk and shut down undead labs just like they did to westwood studios, you just wait. Contracts with microsoft are cancerous.
@xylon_barnett @lockxon it was cancelled cause of the gameplay style of this game cause #1 you need to change the search style which once youve searched the area its gone but if you add multiplayer it will have to come back after a certain amount of time #2 they will have to create a server with its own timer not your pc timer cause the game uses your pc timer.
@xylon_barnett They never once promised mulitplayer in State of Decay. Undead Labs said they would try to implement it after so many people said they wanted it, but in the end they would pretty much have had to re-code the entire game. They promised it would be in the sequel.
@lockxon
From an official post I pulled this:
STATE OF DECAY / 3 JUL 2013STATE OF DECAY MULTIPLAYER DLC CANCELLED304"We said we wanted to, it killed us to cut it, and we had hopes for the future."BY LUKE KARMALIUpdate: Undead Labs' Jeff Strain has confirmed that co-op will not come to State of Decay. However, "I can say definitively that co-op multiplayer will be the absolute heart of any future State of Decay games."
He explains, " It's not simply a matter of adding the technology, but also redesigning core game systems to support multiple players, and then adding new content designed for people to play together. It's easy to imagine how all that would come together — as many have said, the game is practically begging for it — but retrofitting the game to add that experience would take the rest of this year, and well into the next. Worse, it would preclude our ability to offer any other kind of support for the game, including Title Updates and DLC."
Undead Labs has admitted that it's unlikely its open-world zombie game State of Decay will be getting a multiplayer mode, despite this originally being planned.
The studio took to Twitter to engage with fan concerns, where it admitted that while there was nothing official to announce, things weren't looking particularly positive.
They clearly state that it was "Planned" and then it was "Cancelled" In the court of law, when you say your going to do something, but then decide not too, you are still legally responsible. Their word that it was planned, was a promise to all of the players, they did not say MAYBE, or IF. They clearly stated it was planned, and while they were working on it they backed off. The worst part is, they lied again, saying it was never promised, yeah sure they didn't say the words "I promise to make a multiplayer DLC." But lets just say, if they had taken the unbreakable vow from harry potter while saying everything they were going to do, they would have died the second they took multiplayer off of the board. After they announced multiplayer their sales went through the roof and then when sales simmered down they backed off. They are liars and the proof is right there.
this is the game that will make me consider buying a XBOX one
Do yourself a favor and buy it for PC. You'll thank me later.
Is "shitty" forbid here? Because my comment seems to be gone.
After buying their game and all their dlcs, they want to sell me the same game again, because some shitty "upgrade" that i've helped to fund. That's why some games deserve to be pirated.
@kalpesh_78 @andreh_felipe dont get it at PC too high memory usage and too high system requirements too high that it can crash your windows 7 but not windows xp. Dying light was made for windows xp not windows 7
@andreh_felipe I love Dying light. Get it if you still don't have it.
Was playing the Life Line DLC last night actually, State of Decay is still the best zombie game imo. All I'd want from a new one is a much bigger map of course and make it an MMO, pvp can go to hell.
This game was a lot of fun. With all the different takes on zombie games, this one was my brand.
I tried to like this game.
@sknight175216 Me too, I followed the development almost daily for a long time. Close to release it became pretty obvious it wasn't going to be the game that I and some others were expecting, but I gave it a shot anyway.
It has sold very well and for a lot of people it's a great game, no denying that. I often describe it by saying that it rode the line between same old action arcade-y and hardcore or serious survival simulation. The only problem was for some, like me, it stayed too far on the arcade-y side and that's actually why it was so successful.
Best zombie survival game ever ... shame it's not multiplayer then I reckon it may well trump DayZ ... lets not talk about H1Z1 .. please... thanks.
It figures the animation looks better
They should have added WEATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@Zacmaccraken Easy tiger, very small studio, one guy builds the maps apparently, they did a fine job as is.
@XNEXUS666X @Zacmaccraken in that case they should release the map editor and mission editor. I miss those days. this game really needs new maps and weather and mods.
I did not like this game at all. What I hated most was logging off and coming back later to find all my stuff gone.
I loved the Left 4 Dead and Dead Island games. Looking forward to Dying Light.
@EliOli that has long since changed buddy. Now when you log off the game will start slowing down until it freezes after two game days. so basically you are good if you keep stockpiles for 3 days
is PC version any good?
@Karmazyn Yes.
Hmmmm, so co-op won't be in the remastered games, but will probably be in future games. Hopefully these future dlc or whatever quickly get made.
The truck could not ram through a wooden fence... (2:33) I never played this game but I get it's a GTA with zombies. I prefer daying light and maybe, just maybe give this one a try when its price drops like 30% at least
@Gadeos The asking price is a steal in my opinion! Also, GTA, State of Decay and Dying Light are very different games, none of them are really comparable in my experience.
@Gadeos The truck was travelling at about 3 mph.
YESSSS
I dig the whole "remastering" phase going down, but I don't think we're reaching far enough back. I know, I know, it'd take a lot to resurrect games of the PS or PS2/Xbox era but that time is really coming about.
oh 33% off, how generous! go f ur self
I like how the "Contains mature content" warning pops up just as the played is bashing in a zombie's head into bloody giblets... kinda late on the warning there xD
...so basically we got everyone to buy this guise on a beta that will get co-op in the full edition. It never came :|
@Yamakoichi Is this just a single player game ?
@Yamakoichi damn, it sure screamed for some co-op action… it didn't even have to be a "massive" online game…. just a 2-player co-op or even better couch co-op would do it...
Just make that damn sequel already what's wrong with these people?
Enough with remastering old games! Work on new ones instead god damn it!
"Co-Op is at the center of our minds"... Does this mean that they will be adding Co-Op eventually?
@Henry518 it means they will add co-op(prossibly) on the next SoD game. This one is not going to get that love.
my favourite game is still "definitive remake: the remake (definitive edition)"
I have bought this game and all the DLC on Steam and now I should buy it all again just to get an update? No thanks, I'm already doing that with Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin.
@joku760 lets all take away from these lessons. lets stop buying there games on release, wait a year, for the full updated game.
...i wont be buying this!
Wish they put more zombies on screen at one time but I'll still buy it.
I absolutely loved the excellent (but flawed) original on Xbox 360 and was definitely one of the better open world games on the system. I can't wait to play through this again and the DLC on the Xbox One and it's nice that existing owners get a discount too :P
I hope the sequel will have a new engine that isn't so buggy and a bigger world to explore.
