What is Monaco?
Danny chats with Monaco creator Andy Schatz about graphics percentages, hypothetical indie fights and the irony of having his game's tagline stolen by the Thief revamp.
"What is locked - can be opened. What is hidden - can be found. What is yours - can be mine." Thief 3 trailer http://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Thief
Good interview. This game looks super great, I'll wait to see what people say about it when it comes out.
"The Crytek answer, that's bullshit". I've been waiting so long for a developer to come out and say that. Thank you.
I wish I had 67% of the charm of these two guys.
The game looks just like something I might really like.
@obsequies I can't agree with that. In games the graphics must be functional first and foremost. Everything else is a bonus.
@dribblesbarbax Would you shave him for a free copy of the game?
you sound like how your pic looks
@Saketume @obsequies but graphics are art..its a fact. weather the graphics are implemented in a certain way or not is irrelevant. Structure and gameplay mechanics are the root but without art its only metaphysics. Sorry I wasn't very clear with what I was saying. There can defeneetaly be art/graphics for games that arent implemented well with a game but no matter what or how well graphics look its just art. I never meant artistic graphics are first...I meant all graphics are art no matter what. Even pong's paddles which are probably the most functional graphics ever.
@shanethewolfIf I said you had a beautiful body would you take your pants off and dance around a little?
@obsequies I never argued that it's not art.
You, however said it's JUST art.
I'm saying that in games it's firstly a function.
Anyway I don't want to argue with you. You seem sensible.
