Good looking game, gotta give it a try... reminds me of Tyrian, spent hours upon hours with that game.
Reviewer, you really should mute the game voices if you decide to be speaking at the same time, at the volume you've got it at it's hard to distinguish you from the game. As an alternative you could just pick gameplay bits to talk over instead of the cut scenes.
If you like the concept of this game and how it brings new aspects into a side scrolling shooter you should check out our game Zeit2 ( Zeit Squared ) that was released last year on XBLA and Steam. Reviewed here on Gamestop as 8.0. Zeit2 ( Zeit Squared ) has similar gameplay but is even more tactical and has drastically different graphics (which are very abstract and can't compete with the amazing details of Sine Mora.)
Yes, I know. I meant that, in regards to high quality, critically acclaimed, exclusive downloadable console titles, Sine Mora is Xbox 360's Dead Nation.
I was trying to be stylishly minimalistic in my analogy, instead it just came off vague and confusing. Forgive me for that. :)
Of course!, we need to have 360 reviews so you PS3 fanboys can come here and try to start a flame (we know you are bored with your console, that is why you come to the opposite console's exclusivities reviews and write stuff).
@SlowMotionKarma That's the gist of it, yeah. Shooting down enemies nets you time, getting hit drains it. Some enemies and obstacles are one kit kills, but those are fairly rare occasions. But there's enough opportunity of swimming through swarms of bullets that if you're sloppy, you won't survive, yet you don;t need to avoid every single bullet to avoid death. The challenge is certainly there, and enough to feel like you're really on your toes, but it's not abusive.
@TylerW So you gain time by defeating enemies, right? What about all the lasers/missiles/beams being shot at you? Does being hit by those remove some time from your counter? What's the reason I should avoid their weapons?
This game looks like great fun. I'm a big fan of bullet hell games and this one not only looks fun to play, but beautiful as well.
What The Frack!!!!!!!!!!!! This game looks awesome. Is it a dloadable game or a disc game? It's so funny such a 2D game triggers my interest while crappy 3D game like Resient Evil Raccoon City are being released. It just shows that any game can become a great game, only if that's the developpers' goal. Kudo to Grasshopper Manufacture. Me likes!
