I really liked the Pikmin minigame in Nintendoland but I've never played Pikmin 1 or 2. Should I play those before Pikmin 3 or does it not really madder?
I don't know how this guy moved around but I almost never lost pinkmin to walking around corners. well at least not nearly as much as in the first two, I actually thought the pathing was improved in this one. I will agree that while both control methods worked well, but neither was ideal. its funny, I lost most of my pinkmin giving them food to carry back and not paying attention to how they walked back.
Pikmin 3 - PIKMIN DOMINATION!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc9AnWO3VWY&feature=youtu.be
Loved the first game, never got the second, prob wont get this. Why? Because they don't drop the price at all and I'd take ps/pc over wii anytime :/ shame.
This game is amazing i love coming home from work to continue my adventure alongside my army of pikmin.
It looks great, runs great, and is fun to play.
It looks like a simple game but its quite challenging, often tactical in your employment of your pikmin especially in the boss battles, and what you do each day.
He mentions the control scheme, you can change control scheme on the fly by pressing a button on whatever controller you want to use it will automatically switch it for you. I personally play with the wiimmote/nunchuck combo and sit the gamepad either next to me or on my lap so i can use the gamepad for the map and info etc... while using the wiimote to play more effectively.
Also he says the pikmin get stuck, it doesnt happen often, the trick is to be aware of it and not leave them behind. You can also use the gamepad to tell your character where to go and he will run there automatically and the pikmin will follow him and will never get stuck or lost because they follow very closely behind you when you do it this way.
Overall a fantastic game, this is the first pikmin game ive played apart from the pikmin minigame on nintendo land, but i would easily give it at least a 9.
Haha yeah sometimes ill say no my pokemon are dying!...then be like wait no i mean pikmin! :D
I'm sure Pikman 3 is a terrific game that's tons of fun... but for real, not to be an asshole, there is no fucking way on earth it is on par with The Last of Us. Kind of ridiculous they have the same score. I understand its just one man's opinion, but god damn... I mean... come on.....
@trecneps I never played pikmin 1 or 2. I was able to catch on pretty fast with pikmin 3. Its a splendid game! Check it out!
Peek-min is the Japanese pronunciation. So Tom got nothing wrong.
Did you buy the first one new? Do you feel it was worth the money? If so, then why should them dropping the price matter to you if the game is worth the original asking price?
@Valacan I pronounce it "Pick" "Min"... M is not a letter that makes I into E
@wgerardi As I've said before: Fucking get over it.
Because you can totally compare an RTS game with a third person horror survival game.
@wgerardi Why not? This is an amazing game. The Last of us is a well presented but uninteresting plot attached to a (at best) mediocre game.
@wgerardi the last of us deserves a 9.9
this is definitely a 9.
@GameBeaten Well it was an excellent game, but after completion I did feel it wasnt up to the standard of 2 yet easily was better than 1
@drekula2 go to youtube and search
miyamoto talks about pikmin 3.
its not Peekmen dude. not injapanese not in english
@abHS4L88 @Alpr1010 Played the first when I was younger and when parents bought for me. Never had a wii after that because it is not worth buying for a few games I want, and when I finally got a wii (was gift), I didn't want to pay the retail price because Ps3/Pc games are superior (imo) and I'd rather spend money on that than wii games. There's several games I'd like to get on Wii now for nostalgia value (metriod 3, mario galaxy, Mario Party 8 or whatever) but the price doesn't drop at all, when I go to steam and get great games I've wanted to play for $10-20.
Won't get Pikmin3 because I will never own an Wii U, it's an even worse library imo.
@brainiac1988 @wgerardi I think TLOU deserved what it got because of the AI, if they went 100% off the story of TLOU it would have gotten a 9.9
@brainiac1988 @wgerardi I guess its all relative to the reviewer.... but it kinda sucks, because I think there should be more to it than that. I know we're all human, but I feel its important to try and be a completely objective, all-knowing robot if your job is to review films/games/art/etc. Not sure if that's even possible :p. I wish there were an equivalent to film theory with gaming.
I had no problems buying Wii games new because all of the Wii games that I bought new, I still own and still go back and play because they're still fun, something that can't be said about most PS3/360 games I played.
The Wii U isn't a year old so obviously its library won't be that great, but if you do decide to get one, at least it's backwards compatible with the Wii so you can experience the Wii games you missed out on.
