Video Review - Lost Planet 3
Kevin VanOrd braves the cold to bring you this review for Lost Planet 3.
I like the overall gameplay, not great and way to linear but still. What ruins it (expect the obvious port problems) is the boss fights, there is no room for a single error and with error I mean; do exactly what the devs wants you to do... You roll a little too soon and somehow the already swung tail hits you even if you are miles away... etc.
Lost Planet 1 was my first current gen game purchase so it hold a place close in my heart. Even with its obvious flaws there were some unique moments, I think it was the first current gen game to have huge enemies and grappling within a shooter. The series had so much potential.
First thing I noticed was Nicolas Cage, second thing was the obviously downgraded visuals. One of those rare times I have to disagree with a score though, his review didn't sound like he was describing a mediocre game per se, just one that was par for the course.
VERY GOOD! Not expected but much better then other parts and controls are fine for console port, its just a different game then predecessors , optimized good, huge amount of fps but game stutter and rfeeze time to time, so i cant play it for real, waiting fixes.
Did they also forget to mention that a lot of players STILL can not even play this game or even get an even chance to look what this game looks like because this game WILL NOT work for them IE steam players?
CAPCOM are killing their franchise one after one by giving theme to external studios to do the job ,and all of them failed to deliver a game up to the expectation or at least some thing similar to what CAPCOM did in the past.
I look at gaming websites pretty much everyday and have never heard a single thing about this game.
Was not a huge fan of the first 2. I SHALL pass.
kevin sure knows how to thrash down games.it really hurts sales really!no wonder stdios keep shutting down and franchises like moh dead space have all been suspended indefinitely.
F--- YOU GAMESPOT!!!!!! What ever moron decided it was a good idea to automatically advance to next video should be fired. Once again I have a comment, and no, it's not Earth shattering, but it took time to write, and this is an on going thing. I hate that, and this will be the last i ever use of your site. Seriously, get your sh&t together.
Such a shame. I loved Lost Planet 1, and to a lesser extent Lost Planet 2. LP2 they messed with the formula and the results made for a much lesser game. LP3 looks as if they abandoned the original concept entirely. These games reminded me of being a kid and pumping quarters into an arcade machine at pizza parlors, arcades, 7-11's, etc. I just wanted a action shooter with great graphics. Now we have a heartfelt story with the action watered down. So sad.
I agree w/ Kev. about 1/2 the time! Now let's see/hear what Real gamers, you know the one's that have a Real life out side of gaming 24/7 like these "pro-reviewers"/game sites! Happy game guy's!!
I've been playing it since yesterday; it's certainly repetitive and ordinary, but it's not a mediocre experience either.
The review sounds more like a 6.5.. I'm sad that this seems to be just another disappointing capcom game.. The first Lost Planet was a lot of fun. I can't believe they got rid of Vital Suits.
I had high hopes for that game.
For some reason i thought LP3 is going away from multiplayer(and its achievements)
Also..."F" button on X360?
think its a bargin bucket type of game get it second hand when ive completed all the good stuff thats come out at the time
Capcom should have learned from DMC....STOP OUTSOURCING these games....I mean look at how crappy this game looks....I knew it would suck balls
@bildevo hehe, no its Tim Allen...
@bildevo I wish. Oh how I wish!
@Solid_Tango First thing I thought haha
@raidus Dead Rising 2 was good.
@wgerardi Haven't heard a single thing? Do you live in North Korea? How are you able to access Gamespot?
@monicker that's because they want more '' activity'' on the site, its more profitable that way. Makes you watch those ads that are probably already blocked by your ad-blocker.
Yup.. so I'm naturally confused how this game scored lower than Lost Planet 2 which was a terrible, terrible game.
@McGuirex3 I like the game. Just my opinion.
@prince__vlad go fuck your self.idiot
@prince__vlad Asians have little brains...HA...youre a fuckin tool, go back to your cave.
@IanNottinghamX Wouldn't make much difference if they did it themselves. Look at Lost Planet 2 and RE6. They didn't turn out well.
@Elann2008 @ps3gamer1234 Because Kevin VanOrd (who also reviewed LP2) is breathing too many of those ether fumes in the office, or smoking crack, one of the two.
But hey, shouldn't mock the review he did after all "work hard" on it. Apparently "playing for 20 hours" is what passes as work these days. First world problems.
And yes Kev, the review was silly and phoned in. You wrote a few qwips but that number rating does not reflect your own words fully, or the actual game itself.
