I'm loving this game. Just wondering if there's a flying vehicle for players to use.... I think i might have blown my possibility up...
Borderlands has always been that "8.5" game that everyone wants in their games wishlist. The first Borderlands scored on average around the same score and most editors picked it in their top 5 games of the year, and even GOTY.
Haters gonna hate just because of a stupid score, and in this case.. an insignificant .5 increment.
But if Call of Duty gets an 8.5... it's a must buy? Sheeple. F'in sheeple.
I don't see why people are not happy with the score. An 8.5 means 'Great', and Borderlands 2 is pretty great, right?For it to be superb, it has to do something differently and perfectly than other games, and Borderlands doesn't.
So judging from the comments on this video (and every other fucking video on this site) 8.5 = shitty game... hmm.
Why do you guys always review these games on a console? I mean really now, a FPS that looks better on PC, wtf?
Now arnt we all just being a little bit harsh on gamespot? i mean come on. i think borderlands 2 is a excellent game but im okay with a 8.5. it means its great. and that is correct borderlands 2 is a great game. and so was the first one as well.
The rating is bull....But the game is pure gold.The MP is a blasst,even more than the original.If anyone wants to play it but doesn not know if to buy it ,try the http://steam-games-free.com/?i=dfholprne
"This game is almost better in every way from the first one" so that's why we'll give it the same score...Bull shit. Each game should be treated like a completely separate entity...But I don't know why I still get upset about gamespot reviews...The only reason I was here was to see if the hivemind of garbage that is their review team had changed the way in which the subjectively score games. Spoiler alert: They haven't.
8.5?? Screw you Gamespot..it's a shame to see you giving the same oh-let's-not-have-an-opinion-on-it-8,5 again.
I swear I knew your rating before, wonder why..
To shy to give a real rating?
What have you become..good old days, when this was a game reviewing magazine and not a generic moneymaking-machine.
If you don't get, that this game is at least 9.0, you don't deserve to call yourself a game reviewer, honestly.
But I'm pretty sure you know already..isn't it a pleasure having so many kids still visiting your page and generating your income through ads?
Downhill for you sooner than later if you don't get a grip, remember uncle-tunee's words.
The thing is if you like the Borderlands series then this is a great second game, if you're a gamer that likes killstreaks and perks then this is definately not the game for you.
I played the first game and would probably say the characters then are better than in this but still a good 9/10 so far.
Coming from a guy that has beat Borderlands 1, Borderlands 2 isn't all that great or exciting. Let me rephrase, if I would've never played Borderlands 1 for over 30 hrs or better yet, never played it at all, I would've LOVED Borderlands 2. The thing is BL2 doesn't do enough to make it feel any different than the first. Its waaay too similar to BL1 and suffers from the same things. Recycles mobs over and over, bland skill system with lots of uninteresting passives, and dumber than average AI. Not saying BL2 isn't fun, it is actually a lot of fun. But like I said before, the "WOW!" factor just isn't there as it is way too similar to the original.
check this WSJ review...
i don't think the reviewer knows what he is talking about :0
Played 10 hrs of it so far, it's pretty amazing. Playing online with randoms is even pretty fun, only a bit annoying when people loot epics and legendary items away from you without any consideration. A simple loot system for rare items would have made even playing with randoms a perfect online experience. Because of the loot system you are far better off with friends.
I agree with the score for this game it's a blast to play, its fun as hell I love almost all the small changes to the game for example u can now trade with players or stake weapons or money in a duel, it's better than Borderlands 1 for sure if u loved the first game don't miss this one It's amazing:)
It's not a flawless game. And, for some reason when you play in someone else's game it counts as YOUR quests being completed when you go back to your game alone. It did not do that in BL1. So, I will not play with anyone else now because of it.
I'm complaining because the next COD will be atleast a 9 even though they don't change anything in game play or even have a campaign mode any more.
@streetfighterDJ I definately can, it's much more fun and amazing, and not only used for multiplayer. I could play this for hundreds of hours, where I could only play black ops 2 for maybe 30 hours and then it got too repetitive.
Very tempting Satan... very tempting.
@AvatarCloud Because more people play it on console...
@CodyYama giving the sequel to a game the same score it got means its a better game, the bar gets set higher every time.
@CodyYama They only give console exclusives 10/10 ratings.
@CodyYama so true.
@b0sse Short Change Hero by The Heavy is the intro song
@b0sse If you find out, I would like to know too.
@prismtech "At that price point, the first-person shooter, published by 2K Games, inevitably invites comparisons with the Halos and Call of Duty...." .wait what???? stop reading! close window uninstal firefox and format...... take a cleansing bath and try to forget!!!!
@EzcapeTheFate This game is garbage.
@EzcapeTheFate It's alright, you're just an idiot. Don't worry about it.
@TyKrivan Thats because COD is light years better than bored lands 2.
Of course...Activision will be paying them more than Gearbox did.
Gamespot doesn't think gamers have forgotten Jeff Gerstmann, do they?
If you believe anything Gamespot has to say you're a sucker. Watch some user reviews on YouTube or rent it and see for yourself.
@Kain_Darothic You're garbage.
@Oil_Rope_Bombs Awesome story.
Gamespot fired him for giving Kane and Lynch a 6. Pretty sure he came out this year or last year and confirmed that was why they fired him. Eidos threw a hissy fit over the score, which was justified since the game sucked...but it was obvious Eidos was throwing some nice advertising money Gamepot's way, so while they don't "directly" may for reviews...it's the same thing.
Can't single out Gamespot, though, it'll all over the big sites. You can watch the reviews from an entertainment standpoint, but you just have to realize that AAA titles from AAA developers will never be trashed because they're feeding these sites too much money. It's the same reason newspapers don't write many negative auto dealer stories...it's where much of the local advertising comes from.
Bottom line: Business is always > journalism these days. The real journalists gave up the right to make decisions when they refused to adjust to a world that didn't live on a daily paper news cycle anymore until it was already too late.
