Using Less Energy and Saving Money at CES 2012 - Video Feature
We see if gamers can save energy while doing their thing.
Don't really see how plugging in more things can help you save electricity. While a couple of nifty gadgets which might make their designers some money, don't see them saving much money as the devices are always on. Buying a TV with good energy rating to play your console on for example will save you more than those devices. I've seen TV's on the same size and seemingly same features that use twice as much electricity as another.
"In what exactly do we save energie by pluging our light bulbs with wireless devices and microchips to sync over the internet with our smartphones to close a simple light? Come on... I prefer being smart and simply closing the light when I don't need it. Also, Our smartphone uses more energie in a day (counting the recharge) than a lightbulb for months..." Excuse me? What!? A typical CFL lamp uses around 12 watts, your smartphone has what, a 1200 mAH battery. I'll let you do the math. Why people say such ignorant things is beyond me, pull your head out of your bum.

what i waste of time. i use a 1200watt power supply powering crossfire gpus, heavily overclocked cpu and watercooling. i dont care how much energy i consume as i'm paying for it. man made global warming is a big scam created by people that dont want you enjoying high standards of living.
Howabout get up that lazy couch turn all off and unplugged the switch like I always do.. that'll save your money from buying all those ****!!!
Love to see tech always getting better (faster and more energy efficient), it's in our very best interest as a species flying around on a rock.
motion sensor ! tbh I dont move much when i playing a 3 hr sesh of bf or cod, so i could image me playing a game and it suddenly all switching off , not a good idea
That first thing, weemo? what a useless piece of crap =P What's so hard about remembering to switch off a light? haha seriously. The wireless charging thing is cool.
wow that wifi power thinger is a friggin joke..... I just took the time to buy a few power bars with LARGE RED BUTTONS. That are very... EXTREMELY EASY to press even in the dark. To power on or off all my Equipment in various sections of the house. Plus the bars have built in surge protection. All this involves less equipment they are offering. But then again I guess pressing a simple button proves to be a chore for some and could use tech like that......

The only thing I loved was the wireless charging stations. I would LOVE that the iphone 5 (I'm waiting for this one with my old 3G) have this tech integrated (like the HP TouchPad tablet had) so the news docks and charging stations would be way nicer, without any plugs on the iphone! ^_^ Still, there is no link between wireless and green, as it uses even more energie, lol.
Yup, just like the coal-powered electric cars. In the name of "Save energy" "be green", go spend some money to make a statement.
