I wasn't interested in this when it came out. But a close friend told me about it and I looked into it a little more. It looks amazing! definitely picking it up in the future. And thanks Kevin for the great review :)
@Darnasian I respect yours as well, but I think you mis-interpeded my comment. I never compared the 2 games. I just said I liked Dragon Age more, and that the voice acting in 2 Worlds was Horribly done. There is a differance between someone stating an opinion then comparing something. If I was comparing the two games I would of listed points in which of the 2 are diff from one another, which I never stated.
There's the type of gamers who only enjoy AAA titles, and gamers who know how to enjoy games with potential. There's many good games out there that didn't do well enough because gamers these days don't know how to appreciate games. This game is great for what is. I'd give it an 8.5.
@midnight_trashh Eh I respect everybody 's opinion as long as it doesn't go into BS things...Yours doesn't go so I respect it but it's BS to compare games...Dragon Age and Two Worlds 2 are made by 2 different developers with 2 different styles...comparing them it's like comparing a Ferrari with an Aston Martin...both great cars but 100% different styles and different work...
@Humorguy_basic Maturity has nothing too do with peoples taste in Gaming, but how someone chooses to act. I've played Many Many crpg games over the years and liked many of them. (Ultima, Wizardy, I also loved the Elder Scrolls games too) Your Exactly right though. My Opinion doesn't mean a damn thing, but it obviously meant enough to you to respond. I'm just stating my opinion nothing more. I played this game for about 13 hours, it's long enough to know I didn't like it. (I like to give RPG's a chance to grow on me So I spend awhile longer to try and get into the game but I could not) IMO Dragon Age is better then this game. Even the voice acting in Two Worlds II is horribly done. Console? why would I play it on Console? This is a PC review so Obviously. I played it on PC?, and S.T.A.L.K.E.R? I love that game. I actually have that on my desktop right now. If you like the game great! I'm glad you like it. I just don't see why is such a great game. There are better ones out there as you mentioned (Stalker, Gothic, Cybermancy). Obviously you found something good in Two Worlds II that I could not. Maybe it's just me and I just need to spend more time with the game, or maybe it's just cuz I'm getting old :) That sounds really good that the creatures get harder during the course of the game, does better loot drop as well? Like in Diablo? Cheers my friend.
@midnight_trashh, did you play it on console? How long did you play it? Without some more detail your comments don't mean a damn thing! I have this on PC, and it is fantastic! I love that you have horse riding skills points and a horse that actually has an AI.! I also think it's the only cRPG I have played in a decade where I was still meeting challenging new monsters at level 40!!! Not every game can be a blockbuster and if you can be mature enough to understand that there are tons of great PC games out there - like STALKER, Gothic, Drakensang, Space Rangers 2, Sacred, Spellforce, E.Y.E. Divine Cybermancy, Sins of a Solar Empire, etc.
Kevin your a great reviewer but I got to disagree. Firsty, I just bought this game a few weeks ago, hoping to be somthing at least "descent" and after playing it, I don't really see how, or why people think this is such a great game. People are saying this game is open world, it's not open world/sandbox'ish. There's nothing open world about it unless you call swimming out to an island "open world" Secondly the game-play is absolutely archaic and poorly designed. About the only thing I found descent in this game was the graphics. Thirdy out of my 14 years of gaming, this games voice over work is one of the worst I've ever experienced in a RPG. I give it a 5/10 Sorry to all for being so negative. I just couldn't get over how bad the voice over work and gameplay was.
By saying "on console the graphics look washed out", etc and "get this on PC if you have a choice" makes me wonder if this is a generic multiformat score? Y'know, 8.5 for the PC version 6.5 for the console version, so they give it a "multiformat 7.0".!
I thought this game deserved at least an 8, maybe even an 8.5. There are a few hickups in the game as far as loading, or framerate issues, and the combat is a little underwhelming, but those are just issues that have to be mentioned cause they're there. But it doesn't make this game unenjoyable. I rented this game trying to see if my suspicions of doubt would be quelled...sure enough, this game rocks. Being able to Shoot enemies from afar with a bow or magic, then switch on the fly to melee combat with 1 of 3 battle sets is wicked fun! Then add to that a crafting system that is vastly useful for breaking down old gear to upgrade your current/new gear is fun and engaging. And as far as things to do, I've been on 10 or more side quests before even hitting the second real main quest. Plenty of options as to how you want to level your character, whether you want to focus your skill points on Stealth skills, or alchemy, from archery to magic and beyond. The inventory system can get a little bogged down with items if you don't dismantle and craft often, but that's the half the fun if you ask me. While the game is a bit rough around all the proverbial edges, and lacks some of the refinement that other games have spent millions of dollars and countless years on, it's WELL worth the $32.99 price point it's at now used. Anyone on the fence about getting this game, please use this post as your indicator to purchase this game!!
This game is amazing, definite for RPG fans, 7 is not fair score, it is a definite 8.5 in my books. Only 1 glitch I know of is the quest, where you have a key given to you in Alsorna after a few missions, you try to unlock the door but it just shows the locked sign. I am 20 hours in the game now, and not seen a glitch since. Minor to be honest. I hope the DLC will be out soon!
I am so tired of being inundated with commercials just to get to... a constant buffering icon instead of a review. Why is it the commercials never have trouble buffering? You suck Gamespot.
7.5 for this is a bigger joke than only 8.0 for Dragon age II. TW II is a REAL cRPG, Dragon Age II is an action-adventure as far as i am concerned!
Just so everyone knows they have held the game from release for some time now and in that time they could have fixed all the issues at the moment im not sure if they did bother to do that but im not too bothered, i might get it, if it ever comes out, the release date keeps changing...
@nyran125 Your opinion means nothing on this website, and even if it did your opinion would be void because that is just a stupid comment to put on a Two Worlds 2 video review.
not published by top A-list publishers. the review is a bit negatory but it doesn't mean this game is that bad. It maybe worth checking out, maybe just underrated. game looks great for a nifty review
This is one of the best review out there. Still, after putting in more than 15 hours and still not finishing the first chapter, I would give it at least an 8. Their is always something to do. One of the best RPG's I have played so far.
@madmax1509 comparing this to me3 is one hell of a stretch and it wont have to compete with either considering it's out now and those are coming out a year
