Like somebody earlier mentioned, I too could not get into Bastion. I appreciate the art and the sound, but I found the story and the gameplay to be very bland... they tried adding some gimmicks to spice it up, but those are just gimmicks nothing more. I'd be willing to give this game a go, it's certainly a capable studio, I just hope that they got some people with fantasy this time, people who could think of ways to make playing interesting. A somewhat similar title(Torchlight) is one of my favorite games, of course the story there is nothing to write home about, but the gameplay is so much fun that it's hard to pull away... just another floor, really, last one, I promise!
I'd like to play and look for people to hang with in a new launch game. Age of Wushu's first impressions looks good so far.
biggest qualm, movement speed is way too slow for my taste. Which will most likely be the main reason why I won't even bother. And in regards to people saying Bastion 2, I do agree it has a heavy bastion feel to it. And the turn system to me reminds me of fallout 3's auto-target system very heavily in almost every aspect, other than it is a fps, and this is not.
So it's basically a sci-fi isometric indie heavenly sword game. I mean she's called RED with red hair instead of Nariko and the blade is called TRANSISTOR instead of "Heavenly Sword". sigh....*
Kind of sound like someone Really Needs to get some shut-eye big-time cz his having a really hard time with talking/playing the demo!
I do agree that the running animation needs to be fixed. it is important, cause you will see it all the game. so its better if they made it more fluent or im not really sure what it is. not saying the game is bad or anything. please dont fanboi me.
It's been too long since I played a game in which the main character has inexplicably been given "a weapon of extraordinary power". I want to play this.
I loved how at the 7:00 min of the video Maxwell ask Kevin if players will abuse the turn system, and the game answers him right at that moment.
I know I´m a minority but... I just couldn´t get into Bastion. Technically superb (best sound design in quite a while) but, to me, uninteresting gameplay and story. I´m happy that they have been able to build on that success and work on a new IP instead of going the easy road.
Transistor looks interesting... that VATS mechanic looks cool and seems to be a good match to iso ARPG. I guess I´ll have to play and see. Here's hoping it's good!
"...creating that different feeling, making something that doesn't feel quite like stuff you've played recently is really important to us."
We need this ^ a lot more of this ^.
OMG! merging turn-based and real time gameplay is amazing! That is a game that should set standards.
I think i would have liked a sequal to Bastion more.I have been craving to continue the story since i saw the "not turning back time" ending.
Fuckin hate it when devs announce a game that u know is gonna fuckin own, but leave u waiting a year till u can play it. Rockstar are the biggest perpetraitors of this.
Bastion...was kind of boring....it got super repetative. Yes, it had a cool art style and an interesting design, but it was the same thing over and over again. Here's hoping the team learned from their mistakes and can keep it fresh. A friend of mine went to a dance club with several friends, and they met up with a couple of girls, one was gorgeous, the other plain looking. They all throught so at the beginning. But by the end of the night, the all had decided they liked the plain looking girl better because she was just way more fun to be with.
I picked up Bastion last weekend as part of the Humble Indie Bundle, I fell in love almost immediately. Really excited for Transitor now.
Age of Wushu sucks because of spammers like you. Get a life!
@bennehftw I'm shocked you don't have an appreciation for this new art style and the 'Bastion' feel to it, especially since it looks like you played Bastion. I say give them a little more time. This studio deserves it.
@Elann2008 This is not youtube.
Agreed. Even the art-style is different. This isn't Bastion 2 at all. It's also looking to top Bastion, gameplay-wise. I can't wait for this.
@undeadgoon Dod you ruined the video for me, I didnt notice this before hahaha
@undeadgoon uh, umm, uh, umm, uh, uh, uh, uh, umm, uh, umm....Sounds, uh, uh, uh, ummm, ummm, uhhh, ummm, good.
Holy crap this guy is annoying to listen to.
@megakick I think it shouldn't as there are too many MP games on the market.
@megakick Its singleplayer. It's kind of like Bastion.
@petez34 No its not a kids game. the animations at that stage don't matter, the game looks incredible.
@Gigga_Jabba Congrats, ur the first person to complain about something as insignifficant as running animations in a gorgeous isometric game. Pls go.
@harndoogle Many people loved the game just the way it was and there isn't need to change things much because of it. Any changes would be because they want to, not because they need to.
@belin43 Idioooooot !!!
@Succumbus Good show, I do think the studio deserves it. Also Bastion was a beautiful game, and this game looks just as nice. I just meant I could see the similarity, not that the similarity was a negative thing
@slandersoft lol i read this before i watched and i thought you were exadurating.....
@Prats1993 I actually agree with Gigga...the game looks brilliant and gorgeous and detailed..so the running animations seems a bit out of place and stiff when it stops running and starts but thats not very relevant
@faizanhd have you exhausted your vocabulary? You must be the target audience then, enjoy!
@kkxtrouble These game sites ar full of ppl who spout hate for no reason-like faizanhd. u'll never know why. i just ignore em
@kkxtrouble this kid seems to be an insecure jerk that can't tolerate anyone who doesn't share his likes. A phenomenon all too common with young people. Or he's simply just an asshole.
