Looks great, I wish it was on the ps3 so I could play, people who take this personaly look at it this way you have a great game on your system, don't be iritated and say, we take every game, because we didn't take bioshock (an ex) from you, now were sharing it. And as long as nothing is dummed down or as long as you don't loosee it I don't think one should be upset for having it on another system, but that's my opinion. This game looks like loads of fun, enjoy!
@Ovirew Hmm, true. I fully agree to your statement, my only gripe is that kids (well, mostly kids) almost always bash on games like this simply because it doesn't cost $60 or doesn't have multiplayer (which this does, but that's not the point). I just wish more people bought these games because they are GOOD not just because they are cheap.
Why do you guys want this on PS3? You don't see us begging for your exclusives. You guys already took Dead Rising and Bioshock from the 360.
@dxBIGBOSSxb Well idk, I actually think some Arcade games are on par with disc-based games. I mean most people buy a new game for $60.00 and play it for what, a week, before they beat the main story? Some of these games will actually be more memorable and enjoyable than some disc ones.
@halojp23: Yes, scores now appear at the end of video reviews again. We started doing it about a week ago. @metaltorn: The reason scores didn't appear on video reviews for a while was that, since we often discuss and don't finalize review scores until shortly before reviews post, it was causing lengthy delays to the posting of our video reviews. Now that our equipment is able to render video reviews much more quickly, this is no longer an issue.
good news everyone toy soldiers is coming to PC http://www.signalstudios.net/news/featured/toy-soldiers-pc-version-coming-soon/
Hm, fascinating captain. I do believe I'll pick up the game just because I really liked the first as well as the surprisingly good DLC it came with. I am aware this is no master piece, but it's 10-15$ releases like this that can be enjoyable enough to help kill time until a full title release is available and even then it's still fun to come back to once or twice a week just to more enjoyment out of it. It's certainly more investing and worthy of your time than those stupid 15$ map packs they release in games like CoD. Why pay 15$ for 5 maps when I could get an entire game that lasts longer than that for the same price or less?
@ilikepandas To put it simply, an 8.5 a year ago isn't as good as an 8.5 today. So giving it the same score a year later is still like saying it got better.
@ilikepandas Sequels are expected to be better, if every sequel got a higher score for adding a few new features/changes, the cod games would always get 10s... Its better than the first one but it doesn't make massive changes. Were you honestly expecting a sequel to a game that got an 8.5/10 to get a 9/10 when it doesn't take any risks? Its not like a game starts with a 10 and they take off points for mistakes or bugs, its just not terribly original and it won't appeal to everyone. Since the original has been out for a while , its fair to expect more out of a sequel. Even if a game is better than the original on a technical level, it shouldn't necessarily get a higher score. Also, many games (like Infamous 2) that have a fairly large list of improvements actually scored lower than the originals because the standards for open world action games have been raised over the years and some of the new gameplay mechanics aren't great.
@ilikepandas: The original Toy Soldiers was released well over a year ago. Standards change and our scores have to reflect that. Cold War is a better game, but that's expected for a sequel.
I realized that Justin's reviews give an overview of the game and what is within the game, he doesn't really give an opinion (in terms of the video reviews).
Toy Soldiers is an 8.5 Toy Soldiers 2 which "improves upon it's predecessor at almost every opportunity" is also an 8.5 *scratches head* I'm not saying this should've been given a higher score but I've been seeing a lot of 8.5 scores from Gamespot this year and I'm beginning to wonder if 8.5 is becoming the score a reviewer gives to a game when it is great but either lacks an original concept that surprises or is not long enough. The score and comments seem to say, "Yes, you're better in every way but 8.5 is the best a game like you will ever get no matter how good you get."
@Warlord_Irochi It comes out tomorrow. But maybe you are in another region and it gets released earlier, idk.
I am going to get this solely based on the fact that they use THE LILLINGTONS FOR THE SONG IN THE VIDEO!!!!!!
If the only thing wrong with the game was rare frame rate issues how does it get an 8.5, game looks great and fun, might be the first summer arcade game i buy.
I often wonder what the Russians think about the Americans (tho in this case the Brits.) movie/game dev's, (alway and forever) using them as the Bad-guy's in our movies and or video-games?!!
@justclient Agreed, this is the only remaining xbox exclusive series that i really want on the ps3. I have a 360 but i would much rather get a ps3 version because i rarely use the 360
