Yes, I've heard. Kills men by the hundreds. And if HE were here, he'd consume the English with fireballs from his eyes, and bolts of lightning from his ASS!
I *am* William Wallace! And I see a whole army of my countrymen, here in defiance of tyranny. You've come to fight as free men... and free men you are. What will you do with that freedom? Will you fight?
Fight? Against that? No! We will run. And we will live.
Aye, fight and you may die. Run, and you'll live... at least a while. And dying in your beds, many years from now, would you be willin' to trade ALL the days, from this day to that, for one chance, just one chance, to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never take... OUR FREEDOM!
Total war and Game of thrones would be an amazing mix, especially with the amount of mythical creatures increasing :)
Just an idle thought from a fanboy: I would like to see how they would do with fantasy settings. I mean, there are many games that focus on series like Lord of the Rings and trying to make it a big strategy game. I don't think I've ever played one that was really decent. The Total War franchise would probably be the only developers who could pull it off with how impressive they make their own games look. Unless they manage to incorporate more modern eras into their games, they will soon run out of historical periods they can use. I think that this would be an interesting way for them to keep things fresh while sticking with their own formula.
Also, little suggestion, put some option to enable the player to play the game in accordance with the historically correct scenarios. Or, a box saying: "By this time and the next 5 years the Romans would conquer Pontius, Armenia and the Seleucids.
OUCH! I feel sorry for that last roman.....It does look beyond beutifull, If ingame is anything like that then I will be amazed!
I can see the game itself being great, but the Roman setting kind of ruins it a little. If it was set somewhere more interesting this game would be, by far, my most anticipates game of the year.
I don't think there's a video game series I want to love again more than this one. It hasn't been the same for me since Medieval 2, really since R:TW for that matter, but I feel if any game can do it, it's this one.
Amaze me, Creative Assembly.
@evangeli0n1 Why would you want the only true historic game to go fantasy. It would ruin the whole franchise. I do agree MAYBE it would be fun as dlc. But this should always be a historical game as it always was supposed to be. They already had all historical periods and now they are doing them again.and they would probably do it all over again cause by the time they are back where they started it will be more then 10 years that past and they will have better graphics etc. This will never get boring
@Scorpion1813 Do you mean the starting date?
@Chushingura Greece is the best nation ever!!!!!!!
Mainly just the overall focus on Rome and the Roman Empire. I have zero interest in it.
Yeah saw that. Ptols or Sels is most probably the final one.
So far it's
Carthage, Macedonia, Iceni, Suebi, Arverni besides Rome.
There are two more at least unknown to us and they are bound to have some eastern factions which could be either Parthia, Seleucids, and Ptolemies. Maybe even Pontus..
Any news on who those other factions will be?
@CastorT @Scorpion1813 its not just about the roman empire its really about the time its set in the early AD its called Rome because they dominated Europe then lol. but all playable factions will have different buildings , troops , famous figures and text. so if you don't like Rome kill them off with one of the other 7 playable factions
Then I must say I find your first comment strange (regarding Rome).
You could have just said you'd prefer a whole different era and setting...
I thought you meant why the focus is on Rome even though when it's in ancient times.
For the focus to be around a more interesting Civilization. I'd be happier with Asian (China, Japan, Mongolia, etc), of something around the Crusades.
I know not everyone is interested in that, and some people are more interested in Rome. But I'm not.
Okay...what would you be interested in instead when you said:
"If it was set somewhere more interesting this game would be, by far, my most anticipates game of the year."
I can't compare this game to RTW because I haven't played either game.
