Top 5 Tips To Be a Master Thief
Stephane Roy of Eidos Montreal shares his top 5 tips to get the most out of your Thief experience.
my game runs fine at 60fps solid. But cut-scenes are awfully choppy, jumpy and laggy.
It seems like 5-10 fps, with lag and stutter : but the FPS with FRAPS shows 60.
The video where Erin falls to the ritual circle was unbearably choppy - it pains the eyes. Also the part in the cart - the subtitles arrive 20 seconds before its time. No lip-sync and all. and it's a mess..
Any fix??????(using the PC version - heard about that issue with PS4 and PS3 versions as well)
Stephane Roy... I have some feedback for you ; Did you guys even bother to play or look at Thief 1 & 2 ??!! WTF !!
Why is it that game companies now days spend years developing these games but cant get the bugs out? They have made descent games in the franchise before and then there next game is a buzz kill. Miilions spent making these plastic doorstops because they are so bad.....that is the only good thing they are used for. You companies need to put out something good from the beginning and not half ass with day one patches.
Dont get this game on a console if you have a decent PC, buggy as crap I agree with the 6 score. On the PC the game is maybe a 7 as it plays less buggy and if you install on a SSD the loading screens are not that bad (still confused at why i get loading screens when I open certain windows).
I am enjoying the game even though the AI is so bad it makes it very easy.
@GunEye I can vouch for these happenings. Seriously in the opening hour of the game you have this huge list visual issues. This makes it terribly hard to care about the story and characters when you're rapped up in visual stutters. In the cart scene it gets so bad it doesn't even look like they're moving their mouths. In the ritual scene I want to miss Erin but the guards on the roof look like crap. Please fix this Eidos or who ever you hired to do the PC version. You kept saying it would be great, but the problems really get me.
@GunEye ...don't forget it comes "complete" with day one DLC...
@GunEye ...and ignore this piece of sh%t...
@fettdude They already given you tips so you no longer have to suck at it. If you suck at a game that doesn't mean it's bad.
@fettdude Very valid argument why the heck should I listen to you, thief is a perfect game, on PC looks GREAT, same as old games: Tip nr. 1: Buy the game its great.
so now we r even
@ffritzy @GunEye Thank you! I knew I am not the only one. only recently I heard tons of people complain about it, also online in forums, and these issues are happening for PS3, PS4, PC,X360, and X1 users as well!
I can't believe that a game that relies so much on cutscenes to deliver its story (which is ok by me) - has done so poorly in terms of programming and execution.
Damn that Erin falls from the roof scene just pains the eyes... hard not to be distracted from the story with this poor performance.
And again - it is a pre-rendered scene that runs on 60fps. Seems like the developers messed up in decoding the videos and they didn't even bother to play-test it!
I also get those strange horizontal blur/lines - like someone hit me in the head - and my character got dazed/dizzy effect. Happens a lot when I move the camera slowly or during stealth: do you have this as well? (I read someone talks about it too). Looks like distorted motion blur. And usually fixed by moving again. But this can be really distracting and an eyesore.
I honestly shocked that it is 4th of March and they didn't release any patch to clean up their mess.
You know - they removed all negative comments and banned/blocked all Facebook fans that said anything remotely negative about their game or review. I am one such fan. Got permanently blocked for saying: "I was disappointed about the game I waited 10 years for...").
It is like they are saying: "Screw you fans, screw you negative feedback, we couldn't care less. we are awesome!".
Such a disgrace, it is pathetic.
