Those who are saying why not skate in reallife for 2 reasons 1- maybe some of us dont know how to skate b- we want to havee fun with the game why dont you all go fight wars or assassinate people and jump from building to building huh?
hey this might be good like remember rock band unplugged ppl thought it sucked but it was good so u cant say anythin bout ride till u play
Basically they have taken a dance mat and wrapped it around a deck. What's the point in motion controls if you just press down on different sides of the board?
OK to clear up the subject this didnt really rip off skate cept the sidekick but that doesnt matter it looks good but hard and skate copied Tony Hawk first Tony Hawk series started in '99 skate- '07
perfectly good example of why Activision is a freakin disgrace to Tony Hawk....i mean why buy a real skateboard for around $100 while you can pay twice as much for a plastic piece of **** while making you look like a total Ftard........im not sayin that it sucks but...seriously? i know gamers are known to have NO LIFE but SERIOUSLY!? WTF!?
wow this looks bad, can you imagine how many injury lawsuits this game is gonna eat from people falling off the toy board and taking out coffee tables and various other items? at least it's gonna be hilarious to watch the epic fail of this
I like to sit when I play videogames.....I think i'm gonna go outside and skate now. Still love ya Tony!
Im not talking down bout tony hawk games, but I got a feeling RIDE is gonna have so many problems after the release, like the board tech specs wont last long, people would want a longer warranty, and if the game turns out better than people thought, are others gonna copy it..... I guess we'll have to see come release.
So, instead of jumping up, pulling our body up and grab, we're kneeling down, lowering our body, then, touch the side of the board? I'll stick to Skate.
Wow if everyone reads haohmaru11's comments, seems he's just made he didn't think of it first... Loser.
...just imagine get your skateboard to play the game , you will look so retarded ...trust me , this concept will never work , maybe this concept is for retarded people ...you looking to a damn TV and sit on a skateboard come on ...this really sucks and what about if you fall ...are you gonna fall off the skateboard ? what if you want to go backwards ...you and look away from TV lmao , think idiots think ...it's not the time yet for this type of virtual games , maybe in 500 years when the technology will give you a real good tool that would make you virtually flying in the house playing a stupid skateboard game
I think this is the coolest idea ever. A skate game that is close to a real life thats awesome. This is much better then pushing a button to do a kickflip I think that is totally lame. This is going to rock and the people who hate are just hating how you have to get off the couch....
OMG how stupid ppl can be nowdays , i would laugh my ass off if i see someone riding on a skateboard playing this in the house , LMAO ...this is the most stupid game i ever heard ...
You know, just thinking about it again just now: Days ago I was thinking like "Well, too bad it's not coming to PS2 anymore.". I do understand that, but I'm not going to get a PS3 because someone else I live with just bought the PS2 for everyone to use some years ago. I mean, in the way of, I just happened to be able to play the PS2, and my own platform is the PC anyway. So I just thought, this would have been or still be a great opportunity to start releasing it on PC too. Especially with using a new controller and completely counting out the (PS-)gamepad. I so hope they'll do that, so I don't have to say goodbye to "Tony Hawk Skating"-games. And it could easily be done, since first of all "Tony Hawk"-games have been on PC before, at least one. Plus, now I believe it's only going to be on the three leading consoles, which is not too much for one extra platform. Besides, it's not like the PC is like a handheld, it accepts the controller too. :) Would be perfect to continue it and expand the audience for the game(s). Since the handhelds probably won't get them unless they make some lame alternative as usual. Now they can fill that gap for the PC. I would love it and buy it, unless the game turns out to be a letdown on the consoles first. But please, anyone that likes this idea, try to get the message out too. :) Edit: I was just thinking, how would they get the controller to work on the PC. Someone else might say that... But well, they could probably come up with a wireless receiver you plug into the USB of course. Anyway, I also remembered when Brian mentioned in this video, if it's a competitive thing with Microsoft motion-capture-deal. The Activision-guy claims it's not, and that's fine, but I don't know, IF they'd release this for the PC, if Microsoft would be too happy with it. Unless it's just a tiny "threat" to them since it's probably really different, meant just for this game. Then again, they could use Microsoft's own Crazy Balls Technology instead and go all the way. XD That might be meant for the X-Box, but I don't know...
The Tony Hawk series was being made before Skate. If anything, EA copied Activision much like their tennis game is a copy of Wii Sports Tennis. Fact is, every game is inspired and influenced by what has gone before... and every game should be striving to be better than what has gone before, learning from things that worked well and things that didn't work well.
lolll are you serious narutoson666... this is the most blatant rip off of skate i think i have ever seen.
I cant beleave that they copied skate like that. seriously... a T-Mobile Sidekick???? skate had that first!
damn it, this sucks. why dont people just go out and learn to skate the real way. and then go pro and earn money on skateboarding. I'm not getting this...
u know what, both skate and tony hawk games aren't realistic....skate just is a better game...but its not realistic either.
