So basically 3G on the Vita is mainly used for social services, any game multiplayer game needs wifi to connect to others. Since I am always around a wifi connection that makes 3G useless for me. I would however consider buying a 3G Vita if ATT's contracts were very, very affordable. But since there 3G contracts are all supremely overpriced, is highly unlikely.
Sony could have picked a better name for this device. Aside of that, I was wandering how much time will the battery life hold for this? 8)
By using a proprietary card they can sell ALL games on PSN and know that when you download the game to your card, it has a minimum required transfer rate to run streaming games like Uncharted smoothly. If they allowed any card, ignorant people would complain games run like crap off their cheapo slow card.
Wait, what is the point of a touch screen and a touch pad, especially if the touch pad is on the back?
Wait, the PSP's battery life? I'm not sure how good mine was when I got mine around launch, (I was about 8 years old) but my PSP is clocking in at about 3 hours before it dies. I hope that's just from my excessive use.
There is one major design flaw that was with the psp and its not fixed in this one. The left analog stick should be above and the dpad below so that players can get a better hold of the device when playing. To me the psp was dificult in that respect.
So uberexcited for the VIta....though it will take a little time to get used to the name. I preordered it when they announced it....now I will have to change it to the 3G model. I just hope AT&T doesn't screw everyone by bottlenecking/throttle the bandwidth of their users! Or worse, they don't have an unlimited plan.....and charge a arm and a leg for going over their 2 gb limit. I am sure I will hit that in a day with PSN downloads and playing games online! And if they do have an unlimited plan, it's not OUTRAGEOUSLY PRICED!
If I ever buy one, I REFUSE to call my Playstation handheld that terrible name. It should be a crime to name any game handheld or system this. Terrible name. Fire the guy who came up with it.
@halosqrrl Following the leader isn't innovative. There is nothing innovative about touch screens or 3D. People automatically label powerful machines as not innovative. Hell the whole concept of innovation is blown out of proportion by people like you. Innovation for innovation sake is stupid. If you have a legitimate innovative idea run with it. But people shouldn't be penalized for taking tried and true and perfecting it.
Wow screen looks fantastic, all this for 249US WOW! I went ahead and preordered one from Amazon :) Thanks for the video Gamespot :)
First off, I'm an xbox guy. I owned a psp and it was cool, but I'm excited about Vita now. The hardware looks great and the price is right. I'm gonna be pulling for sony on this one. I would really like to get a feel for the dual analog and see how they compare to a gamepad. I don't think this is a failed attempt at being innovative like nintendo as some are saying, I think this is bringing the closest thing to current gen power and control to a handheld. I think it could do just that.
I want one but I will contain myself to ensure there are some good games. I also need to test first person shooters on it, with the controlls.
They hit the proverbial nail on the head with the price. Hopefully they deliver and don't delay the release date.
I think its pretty great cant wait to use it but since i live some where with no 3g network available i think ill be buying the 250$ one
Hopefully I can still see something on the screen when I sit outside, the PSP sucks in that situation
