In my modest opinion, GoW is hugelly overrated. I´ve only played the first one though, and didn´t feel like playing the second one, because for me it wasn´t that fun. There are too many stupid and cheap areas, no replay value, and it is short as hell. Just hope that Dante´s inferno is different
Played Dante's Inferno demo too,and I have to say I like it way more than GoW.Awaiting impatiently for the full version!
I just played the demo and this game looks good. The graphics look amazing especially the giant goat or whatever that is. I will definitely get this game.
just tried today the demo and I was very impressed!! It is a GOW copy somehow but with better graphics, the special effects are unbelievable !!! Fans of GOW don't worry about it, GOW will still be a great game! but now you will have 2 games to enjoy, isn't it great?? I can't wait to have both!!
Nice to Know that the Senior Level Designer for Dante's Inferno also worked on the God Of War franchise. Good times to all!! No "Vs". Contest here.
people Dante's Inferno will own GOW 3 at it's own game. The developers of GOW saw the demo of Dante's Inferno and shiiit their pants and then decided to extend the release to late march because they saw that Dante's Inferno is coming along better than GOW 3. Danete's Inferno might have stolen the gameplay pedigree from GOW but GOW stole the gameplay pedigree from Devil May cry back in the PS2 days. Good night Kratos. I have bothe demos and gameplay is about equal on both sides. The only difference I see that is very noticeable are the graphics. Dante's Inferno has way better graphics. The lighting is incredible. Kratos looks like hes constipated the whole time and the facial animations of Kratos are really static. Good night Kratos.
well if gow3 is the last of the series then it will be nice to see a new series dantes inferno take its place. nothing wrong with that
the game is very stupid i didnt like it its 100000% copy rip of god of war but this will never be like god of war
I was surprised by the demo. I thought it was really good. I wasn't excited about this game coming out until I played the demo. As far as the below argument of it being a rip off of GOW...I don't see the big deal. I thought GOW was bad A!@...so why is it that I wouldn't want to play a game that is similar? If you're going to follow that weak argument, you probably shouldn't play any FPS that's not COD(wolfenstien, doom, or whatever FPS you want to say was the innovator) because they play the same. Weak.
Guys, God of War opens a new era for video games industry. It's unique & original. What people doing right now, Is taking the same cloth and making it their own size, You cannot say that Prince of Persia was a copy from Lara Croft's series because of the action platform, Or Assassins Creed is the same as Prince of Persia, Because it's made by the same people! I agree with everybody that they borrowed a lot from Pandora's box, But still turning a poem into a video game, and this exactly poem will lead any video games designer into this path! So let's just wait and see, within few weeks it'll be released. And then we can play and judge it.
So, I just played as much as I could take of the demo. I am sorry, but the game sucks. Kratos is power, Aries is use of power, so of course there will be battle. Dante is a wordsmith, so where is the quill? but then I know that I know not
It is very similar to GOW, but it has it's own solid story and elements to it and I cannot wait for the release!!
Dante is no Kratos but then again it maybe a game to take a look at. The button smasher is very similar to GOW but that may not be a bad comparison.
there are a lot of derivative games out there- and really, you could do worse than God of War if you want to copy something's style and gameplay. I had a lot of fun with the demo and have high hopes that visceral will be able to develop an experience that it is at least comparable to GoW
I couldn't get over how Visceral Games/EA directly stole things from God of War.. The health bar looks almost identical.. you get 'souls' instead of orbs in the exact same way. The health replenishment orbs look exactly the same- they're even the same color. The music is probably the outakes from the same recording session of God of War's.. The art, visual style, and cinematic style are all the same (save for the out of place cartoon sequences). Clearly, they have few original ideas and the one they added (the cartoon cut scenes) was a bad idea. It's mind boggling that they didn't even try to pretend to be different.
Small Sample but I felt this demo was marginally better than the god of war 3 demo. I think I can see myself liking this game better but who knows.. but as we all know Jan Feb and March we are getting 3 awesome hack n slash action games. Bayonetta, Dantes Inferno and God of War 3.. that is awesome stuff to start off the new year. It does feel like God of War alot they could have atleast changed the way you get life and magic from tapping the damn buttons... yikes that just wierd they chose to do that.. however I dont really care because this game looks and feels awesome and I cant wait to grab it up.
Nothing wrong with putting different rims on the wheel instead of reinventing it. Dante's Inferno really plays just like God of War but the guy's got a scythe. The gameplay was fun enough to make it worth renting at least. I do like some of the game's ideas, like giving the player the choice to punish or redeem the souls you encounter and gain experience separately for light and dark actions. The fact that the game feels like God of War doesn't make it a bad game, just like Bayonetta feeling like Devil May Cry doesn't make it a bad game.
Hmmm... white sould or red souls? killing god or killing death? dodge with the R3... Drink the fountain or open the chest? and that whole feel!? Mash that button circle button! Do the quick time event! Control that giant monster! The music score and the battle style and fight? And how you upgrade the spells? And kill the enemies before the barrel thing crushes you? and kill the enemies before the floor falls down? I am sorry but they are so many tiny picky things I could go on and on about that this game is a complete rip-off from God of War! Then again... is that a good thing or a AWESOME THING!? Lets see how it unraps... this Demo convinced me that it looks like an amazing game... but still its a huge rip-off... would have been nice if the dev showed some more originality in gameplay do. Quick question drcsyntax... have you actually played GoW or this Demo? seriously... And the demo rules... I recomended.
I really wish people would stop with the "OMG GOW" reference. There were games BEFORE GoW that played LIKE GoW, I don't see idiots making references back to those; too much fanboy ignorance surrounding this game. Different setting, different characters, BASED ON AN ACTUAL BOOK; this IS NOT GoW, it's a beat em up, with platforming thrown in; the game revolves around a good/evil motif as well, depending on what skill set you use. GoW Fanboys, please STFU and GTFO.
Its completely GOW, minus the sythe.I could enjoy the demo that much cause a thumb stick would get stuck and all dante did was dodge to till i fixed the problem.lol.it was a good demo though.
ive played the LUST demo at an electronic game show last month and.... its quite impressive the graphs and all but.... its not fully what i excpected... and yes.. its waaay too similar to GOW but you can do high jumps XD and well... kill demons ... in hell
